Just cause I cry
don’t mean I got rain in my soul
life just hard fo’ us folks
no money
but a lot of wrong ways to get it
so young people choosin’
lost ways for better days
with no care of how tomorrow gonna look like

I do cry
but that don’t mean I got rain in my soul
I’m just tired of lookin’ at us folks
strugglin’
good folks
with chances for good lives
but life just hard
too hard some times
and the more we try
the more sweat falls from our brow
the more life just laughs and keeps hurtin’ our souls
and I don’t know why

And it aint God’s fault
though
He aint the reason we see the rain
there is sunlight
we just don’t always see it
maybe life’s hard fo’ a reason
maybe we just gotta see the rain different
maybe it’s fallin’ fo’ a reason
like if we planted a seed
hope would grow
then maybe life won’t be too hard cause we got something to look forward to
