Being that this website is an international website, some members may not be aware of just how prevalent the sin of racism still is within the USA. So, I will provide a recent example of it.
Late last year, ESPN host Rob Parker was suspended from his job after he made a racist statement against professional athlete Robert Griffin III. Well, on the 6th of January 2013, during an interview on WDIV-TV, Parker continued promoting racism. Here is an excerpt of Parker's comments from a story reported by NBC News: “It was just a conversation that’s had in the black community when athletes, or famous entertainers or whatever, push away from their people. And that’s really what it’s about. You saw it with O.J. Simpson, and some other people, where they say, ‘Well I’m not black, I’m O.J.’ So it’s more about that, not about RGIII and what’s going on. It’s more about this thing that we’ve battled for years and why people have pushed away from their people. It’s more about that.”
According to Parker, Griffin's "people" are supposed to be people who have the same racial features that he has. This belief is a racist philosophy that causes a division among people living in the USA. Well, one feature of the Christian faith is that it breaks down all such "racial" divisions. The judgement of people according to "racial" features has no place in the Christian faith. As it turns out, Robert Griffith III is a devout Christian. So, do you suppose that Griffin might have just cause to reject the racist philosophy being promoted by Parker? Why would Griffin want to include among his "people" rapper Shawty Lo, who has fathered 11 children with 10 different women? Why would Griffin, a self-proclaimed Christian, want to include among his "people" members of the Nation of Islam? What Rob Parker and other racists like him fail to understand is that one's "people" are not determined by physical features. Professionally, RGIII's people are the members of the Washington Redskins (American football team), no matter what their physical features are. Spiritually, RGIII's people are all Christians regardless of their physical features. So, I applaud Griffin for rejecting the sin of racism. Well, sooner or later, all Christians (myself included) are guilty of trying to serve two masters. In essence, all Christians are recovering sinners, and a part of the recovery process is admitting to the sin. Sadly, there are still self-proclaimed Christians who continue to try to serve two masters by promoting a form of racism that is to their liking. Instead of seeing racism as being the sin that it is, some make the false claim that racism isn't always sinful. They approve of an act of racism whenever they approve its beneficiary. When Rob Parker engages in the sin of racism, there are plenty of people in the USA who approve of that sin, including people who claim to be Christians. Yes, there are Christians in the USA who openly participate in the same racism that Parker participates in. The late Christian preacher Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamed of a day when all "racial" barriers are gone. When that day comes, people will be saying that . . . Christian preacher Rick Warren and Christian preacher T.D. Jakes are brothers, but Muslim preacher Louis Farrakhan and Christian preacher T.D. Jakes are not brothers. What racist Rob Parker and his ilk don't understand is that Christian preacher Rick Warren is one of Robert Griffin III's people, but Muslim preacher Louis Farrakhan is not. |

I am very aware that racism is live. Racism will be alive until Jesus returns. |

race can only be assumed through asthetic features, and in that it is fallible
but race as a way to aknowledge similar GENEALOGY, migration across the earth, experience,,, is not sinful it is reality in the bible, 'race' had not yet been used, but other such groupings were, like family, tribe, people and nation it is sinful, in my opinion, to use the bible to deny the truth of history and life,,,,,,, race has been a very significant factor since after biblical times, the way tribes and families were during biblical times it doesnt sadden me that people wish to see racial hatred extinguished, but it scares me that people believe that not speaking about the reality of race, and therefore IGNORING the consequences of that reality,,,will be less 'sinful' than pretending it isnt significant or pretending that by itself it is moral or amoral |

I really have never heard of Rob Parker, my focus was on the title of the thread,,, I have never heard of Him either! God has no respect of Person, as for Christians, none are perfect so some may have. Not a good thing, but then neither is fornication and some Christians practice that. |

I believe God plays no favorites based upon anything except who comes to Him in that ,even jesus has 'HIS' people,,,, I dont believe, as many apparently do, that that translates into God intending people not to have judgment or aknowledge similar values, beliefs, cultures, backgrounds,,,etc,, |

God has no respect of person the bible says. However, man does have respect of person, and some in the same "race." Like many Rich look down on the poor and many attractive people make fun of ugly people, the list goes on.....

If you could simplify ir examplify I would like that. |

God is Holy and those who believe in God and trust in Him should try and follow His commands, which is to Live Holy. Jesus, God's son is the mediator between Man and God. Unless you except Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior you can not get to God. So many beliefs but the Bible says, Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life. You can not get to the Father (God) but by Him. Read Romans 10:9,10 I have read all the Book of Romans. I realized that God has to draw a person to him, but only by excepting Jesus Christ can a man be saved. Many people reject Jesus. God's Righteous Judgement comes through his Son Jesus. Romans 2:16 This will take place on the day when God will judge men's secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares. |

Romans 2:14-16 New International Version (NIV) 14 (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) 16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares. Are you saying that the Gentiles who do not have law still know Yeshua? |

Philippians 2:10-11
King James Version (KJV) 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. According to that above and your claim that one must accept "Jesus", it would appear that everyone gets saved. |

According to that above and your claim that one must accept "Jesus", it would appear that everyone gets saved. Romans 10:9,10 That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. No Everyone will not except Jesus, people reject him now. |

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. No Everyone will not except Jesus, people reject him now. So, are you saying that the Bible is wrong and that every tongue won't confess? But if you really want to nitpick... Luke 10:25-28 King James Version (KJV) 25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? 27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. 28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. |

On somewhat of the same subject, I'd like to address "elitism" which seems to be rampant in modern times, including right here in these forums...
This is basically the man-made doctrine that we are only supposed to call other believers our brothers or neighbors... Yeshua had something to say about that too. Has anyone read the parable of the good Samaritan??? |

Again
Romans 10:9,10 That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. No Everyone will not except Jesus. Yes every knee will bow and every tongue shall confess Jesus is Lord when he returns for his Church ( which is the body of Believers) That does not mean Everyone will be saved though. Only those who except, and trust in Jesus Christ. It is not about Nitpicken, it is Bible. |
