Raising a bi racial child around all white people is not good. This teaches a non white child that they are less than! Gee, this sounds a little racial to me! It's all in how you raise them, not in the color around them, I would think. What I mean is.... when a child does not see him/herself reflected in their surroundings .. they look outward. When everyone around them says ....Susie is beautiful with blond hair and blue eyes and glowing cream skin. What does that teach a child with black hair...brown eyes..and chocolate skin? Its wonderful to shelter a child in love! But its uplifting to show a child how equally beautiful they are! I gaurantee that child wouldn't wake up Christmas morning sad and in tears because God didn't make her white! |

Why you list their features and tell them how handsome/beautiful they are of course, same treatment you give Suzie. Children learn prejudice from their environment, whether it be white or black (some black people are proud cuz they aren't as black as others, so it happens) prejudice. |

I completely agree with you about prejudice being learned but a child's self worth is a different point I am making. then Color bias among the African American community. |

As a grandmother who has a very diverse family, of mixed grandchildren and great grand children.
It is all in the loving and acceptance of those children. I love them all, all white, what is that, all black what is that, Thank God there is no pure race anymore. (Me Im white, potawatamee, yes there is a tribe by that name and English, welsh, Scots , German,) My babies are white, white mixed with Algerian, Cuban, Black, see now with my genes and thiers we are covering the globe, we will soon also have Asian, then, well we are the UN. they all need love for who they are not what they are. Just because they are. |

There is a thread about dating other races. Well, would you go one farther and marry a different race? As for me, yes. I will not get married again or even live with someone again, no matter what race they are. For me, their race is beside the point. I want to live in my tiny space, alone for the rest of my life. I just want to have visitors from time to time. |
