Topic: Being attracted to intelligence.

After getting past the outer shell of a person, that first step of mutual physical attraction, something that has always been extremely important to getting along with a person has always been intelligence.

I'm not speaking ill of ignorance. I'm attracted to those of whom are ignorant on many topics, the few that have obsessions, healthy ones, may I add and are extremely intelligent in their niche.

I, myself, am ignorant of many things.
Higher-levels of mathematics, and advanced chemistry for example.
My intelligence lies within the Arts. Visual, mostly.
I also find myself trying to balance heart v/s head. and love an intelligent man that can debate with me, without getting his feelings hurt because I say something to the tune of "From an agnostic standpoint, I do not feel that a Christian-based God is logical. But I could be wrong.", and start attacking me personally.

Video games, mechanics, astrology, Art(from drawing,to literature, and cooking), spirituality, and science. Those are all things I crave a partner to find fascinating as well.
Someone with real intelligence, a sense of humor, kindness, and strong moral code.
Someone to discuss, love, and connect on a higher level.

The area I was raised in, being an intelligent woman (GASP) was worse than being ginger, let alone a different/ mixed race.
And oops. I am all of those things.
Accepting a female that is either more or equal in intelligent in relation to a man was a foreign thing, and at a young age I had to decide whether to conform for a mate, or learn to love myself.

Conducting an experiment after switching High Schools, I was suddenly attractive after asking for help with "This confusin' .. Thangy". The men loved feeling dominant. Even the extremely intelligent ones loved the helpless, dumb girl. After being on the honor roll my cover was blown, but it left questions in my mind.

How do you feel about intelligence?
Does a woman that can rival, equal or even surpass your intelligence scare you?
Why is it so common to want that dominance over every aspect, to have a woman need you for so much?

I for one love feeling protected, and to need someone by my side, but, not on every single level.
A man could rival, surpass or equal myself. I'm not wanting to be dominant at all, I just don't understand being offput by being smart.

What are your feelings on the subject?

By definition, one person will have to be the more intelligent one in the relationship.

Intelligence isn't about what you know.

It's about how you learn.

Because those of us who are curious were shoved into the corner and fed Ritalin due to asking too many questions.

Eat the rich, spray paint monuments, pour cheap whisky on the train rails and light them on fire.

We'll find our way home.

Your username.
Fear and Loathing.
Fear And Loathing in Las Vegas? If so,

My parents, thankfully never allowed any doctor to give me Ritalin. Nor any of the other drugs to suppress ADD, Emotions and the ect that are apparently bad.

And as long as it involves fire, i'm down xD

And just how did I miss THIS thread? Intelligence. One of my most favourite subjects :) I like what you typed. In my country, the acceptance of intelligent people is like having the plague. Luckily, I have a lot of nice enough friends, so all is not lost. All of my ex's were quite intelligent. As in book smart. We just parted due to circumstances, situations, illness, etc. The ones I would get along with, on my level, are few and far between. I have yet to find another guy who means what he says. Maybe I should move to London. As there are some pretty well-educated men over there. You want what you want. I only want the best in quality of a man, for any future I may have with him. I just want the best for my future. My grandfather taught me to never settle for less. He told me how education and career were very important things to have. He used to be an athlete. Not a famous one, but he always made efforts in life. I'd be damn stupid to ever turn down a man with admirable career qualities. If wanting the best for your own future is wrong, then I'd rather stay wrong, than be even wronger and be with the wrong type of man.
