High 70’s
with a smooth gust
to round out the elegance
of white sand
and clear
deep blue waters

Once the sun
captures your soul
it’s relentless
in how it devours every ounce
of will power you have
you’re helpless
another victim
of perfect relaxation

Soon
you find
that you can’t help
yourself
as the umbrella drinks
cause you to sway
to the rhythm
of the easy breeze
and the steel drums

So close your eyes
take another sip
feel the warmth
and listen
as the calypso infused waves
wash upon the shore
you are, my friend,
now a part of the Caribbean wind’s beauty
