Alright, I know how to cook but one thing perplexes me greatly in that some things just have no taste to them at all. No matter what I do certain things themselves just have no taste at all.

Tofu for one. Flavor? If I could call Tofu a flavor. I know it is there when I have consumed it but in Miso, fried, tossed in stir fry and salads, I just cannot taste it.

Rice cakes. Goes without saying with a noteable exception, there are some rice cakes that are flavored that do not taste like Styrofoam.

These are just two of the first things that immediately come to mind that no matter what you do with it it has no taste to it.

Water qualifies but unlike he above products you at least feel a sense of satisfaction when you consume it.

If you want to try something that has no taste, then try matzah with nothing on it.

Do you know the taste difference between a piece of plain matzah and a piece of cardboard?

Me neither. That is why I add a coating of vegetable oil to matzah so that salt will stick to it.

You need to marinade tofu in something to give it flavor.
