When I am weakest, I become strong
I accept my fate, even when wronged
Suspicions and caution rule my thought
Faith in God is what I’ve been taught

He will protect my innocent heart
Opening my mind to do its own part
If someone wants to be in my life
They will have to treat me right

I give everyone the chance to be true
My instinct lets me know what to do
It takes some time to build up a trust
Important alliances will not be rushed

Mistakes are lessons that can be erased
Courage grows with each trouble faced
All the answers will come in due time
Or I’ll close the door to all the sublime

When we open a gift all shiny and new
It’s fun until we get another one too
Our attention is held for seconds at best
The favorite is chosen, we forget the rest

The only way to know your soul mate
Is to experience love, as well as hate
Emotions give us the power to thrive
As together we learn how to “Stay Alive”!
