Her Pain
“Don’t, please just don’t” “But . . .” She asked him not to explain told him that it hurt enough as it was “I don’t want another lie” Between the room’s darkness and her tears he felt her soul and what he had done to her “I’m so sorry” “Not this time” He stood unsure of what to do should he reach out to her try to comfort her or was it time to leave but he feared leaving meant goodbye “Please . . . talk to me. Say something” Another tear fell as she shook her head she wanted to tell him that she couldn’t that there were no more words to describe her pain how could he? how could he love her more than their years more than their struggles more than the reasons they held on more than her there were no words His head fell as if every breath he ever had somehow dissipated into thin air leaving only what his lies had created her pain |

Thanks Leigh . . . I try to touch a person's emotions when I write. I think it makes my work personal for the reader |
