Here is your red flags to help identify if your in process in getting scamd'''They the scammers cant spell they worst than me,lol. There sentences are broken''Most of the time it will show that they live in the United States or England but currenly in Africa as internship for nursing, administration training or on buisiness,,,They never have a phone.....The profile will state, new to site, looking for marriage .Ages are between 31 to 38...When you mention age difference they allways say it doesnt matter....Allways out of state or temp.out of the country. They avoid answering complicated questions ...They use the same M.O. of all that I dealt with*****Remember its your heart and your money know how to protect it,knowledge is powerful'''''Be safe, have fun,but be aware ...Hope this helps,,,,

I had a few young ones invite me as friends on here and I declined and blocked. I am getting tired of many Viewing me as well. I wish I could block them.
I am talking to a nice looking fellow older but I think he is a scammer so I am giving it a bit more time. I usually can tell a scammer. Like you said here, they fail to answer questions many times and keep talking off, like sweet things to women especially. What they do not know is that STUFF dont work on me. I have had some nice dates on other sites and I am not a Deperate woman. |

People that tell you they are military. A uniform does not make a military person. You can buy a uniform anywhere and millions of pictures are available to lift from media sites but it is against regulation for a service member in the USA to use their uniform or military service to solicit. With people being RIF'd right and left they are not going to do something so foolish to end an current career.
People who give you vague job descriptions; engineers are a big one; you can check if someone is a licensed engineer on Linkdon. Same goes for Doctors and other professionals. Otherwise they are blowing smoke. Self Employed usually means UNEMPLOYED and living on unemployment, someone elses dime usually and employed SO/wife/parent, disability, or life insurance. Widowed. People can be widowed at any age but it is a common tact of younger scammers. Almost always they will have a child in provate boarding school somewhere but can not produce a picture or family photo. People who claim to be international travelors but can not produce a passport photo. DO NOT think that just because someone says they are older that they are. If they can't come up with age appropriate references, or overall situational comments you have to figure they are lieing. Mature workers work long hours and are tired and while they talk a good game the chance that they are going to part with their "real world" to chase after you is minimal. If you are being "shopped" out of your area you are probably entertainment or and affair for a married. Last but not least NEVER waste a second on someone who ask for money/debit cards, calling cards, or for you to buy a ticket anywhere. They are going to convert it to cash and disappear. Actually many more men are scammed on line than are reported. They often don't see it as scamming and excuse sending gifts intended for children or lovers when in fact the stuff is resold. Men are nortorious for covering up being scammed or repetitive debit charges because they either don't check their statements or hide it from spouses and the community at large. |

At anytime one thinks they are being e-mailed by a scammer they should in fact report them.. There is a system in place on this site in order to report scammers.
Not all scammers are Nigerian many are from within the states.. Scammers are everywhere regardless what site you are on as far as social sites.. Anytime you suspect you are being e-mailed by a scammer scroll down on your e-mail and click the link report this user. It will give you the option to click on a few reasons and a section to explain if you like. You do not have to click on a reason you can just report in your own words. After you send the report it will in fact be sent to Admin which will check out the report and deal with them as needed. We encourage members to use the report system as it was intended for and never the forums for this. Each and every report is looked at and handle according... Scammers have no age limit..as far as men many pose as engineers, construction workers and or military most of the time widowed and have a kid...All the pictures are captured off the internet. Broken English at times but many times you will find certain things pop up. They are willing to relocate within the first few e-mails. Like they will want to get to know you better, they send their numbers early and they try very hard to get others off the site they are on and towards yahoo. They do this cause with yahoo who are you going to report them to and have them do anything?? With sites they know once reported and the site determines they are scammers they will be banned. Anytime you decide to go to yahoo regardless how well you think you know someone make sure you click to save all of your IM's to and from. Keep a record........You can look back see where they have tripped up ect and it could save you in the long run... But all in all be careful you are dealing with others online they can say anything they want to and many do.... |

I've had eight from Africa, five from India, One from Canada. They always pretend to love travel or pretend they work abroad. My ***. . If they don't have enough money to survive, I don't see why I should be tricked into giving them any. They should get a job then, otherwise on their own life be it, if they can't get off their lazy *** to find a job. They may very well like travelling, but they ain't getting on MY ship anytime soon. Or rather, not while I'm on it. . I play them at their own game. They think they rope me in, but then the details of either "Need fund to travel" or "dead relative" come into play. I'm thinking "No way buddy. Bye bye". I just block them after that.

Scammers can be both male and female impostors. It is correct their English is not very good, not that mine is perfect, BUT theirs is worse.
I don't believe in over the top compliments about my picture or what I have written in my profile. I mean come on, he does not know me from Adam, but the guy likes everything about me?????? Then the dumba** ask's for my yahoo e-mail, when I clearly state my preference on my profile. So not only is their English writing bad, they can't friggen read either. Being on a dating website does not make me naive or gullible and certainly not desperate. It simply opens a bigger window of possibilities. I come to like the forums very much and the people posting there seem to be genuine. Why would I send money to a third world country when there are so many people in need on the North American Continent? People are still suffering from hurricane Sandy right now! I have reported some scammers. I still try to be polite when I encounter a impostor, but maybe I should go with the crowd here and make a game of it and see how much fun that can be! |

I understand that Africa is a very poor country, and is dire straits, but why aren't their government helping them? I don't get it. I guess this is why we have 'Comic Relief' day and 'Children In Need' day. I know that richer parts of Africa, rob from the poorer parts, or at least that's what I heard on a news report. I bet it's those Somalian pirates.
