What a hoot!! round here we call em "RIVER RATS".
The beautiful Ocoee River is right up the road from my house. Thats where the summer olympics were held for many events just a few years back. Its a real shame we are in a heavy drought. Rafting BOLDERS AND ROCKS really isnt much sport. |

Good for you, sounds like you had a BLAST!!! The most daring thing I've ever done is para-sailing in the Carribean, scared to death, but I did it. I've never done white water reafting sounds exciting |

Whitewater rafting is addicting. One summer I went to West Virginia three times. Go during the time they let the water out of the dam on the Gauley-that's considered the most difficult you can do commercially. Class 5 or 6 depending on how fast the water is flowing. I didn't stay in the raft and then on a 14 foot drop the other lead rower wasn't able to control his oar and wacked me in the nose. Let's just say that an injury took place. Would still do it all over again.
Did you get the video of your trip or jump off of any high rocks? Wish I had vacation time like that. Enjoy yourself for me too. |

A MUST DO!!!!! My dad used to be a river guide on the American River here in California....got a lot free trips, and had a blast. I was young but knew the fun! Everyone MUST do this at least once. If you are on the American River.....watch out for the Devil's Turnpike, he he he

I've yet to experience a Class V. I've done III and IV, and the latter was a blast.
VI is usually considered unrunable though. During one trip we had to portage around a class VI rapid, and the guide said she ran it once, but it was one of the worst rafting experiences of her life. White water rafting is a blast in any event. Even more fun than skydiving. |

I have para-sailed also...for me it was like sitting on a swing. Took a camera up with me and got some cool shots. I do have a video of that experience, but not of the white water rafting...have still photos of that.
