"But let me save you some time: the conventional wisdom holds that there are just nine states that might go either way on Nov. 6, meaning that if the other 41 states go the way they're supposed to, there are exactly (and only) 512 possible outcomes. I've calculated the electoral vote tally for all 512 combinations and Obama wins re-election in 84.2 percent of them. " =-=-=-= Note that bookies like Ladbrokes for example hat the payout for a Romney to win bet about 5 times that for an Obama to win wager. Coincidence? I think not! |

Sooo........we should take someone's word for it and just not vote because Obama will win anyway right?.....lol You really think that people are that stupid? How come the polls suggest different?

Right now it's all about momentum.

So your saying he has a chance <said in my best dumb and dumber voice>

If Ohio and Colorado go for Romney, he wins. Several other swing states, like Florida, have already shifted toward Romney.

Obama has a 74.4 chance of winning to Romneys 25.6 http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/2012/10/mitt-romneys-very-long-odds-winning-election/58414/ Which is the same as the OP. |

I am saying VOTE! Everyone should vote.
Mathematically the odds for a Romney victory are not good. That is just the math. There is no accounting for momentum or any other gaffe or analysis which definitely could shift the election one way or the other. The candidates are as we speak feverishly trying to swing the contested states. Sometimes even a state or two which is not expected to be contested turns out to go differently than the polls suggest. Just don't get complacent. Romney's odds are long but either candidate can definitely win this election. So....Everyone should vote and realize that their vote is indeed very important!! I just thought it was very interesting to see exactly how this simple-minded analysis worked out to give almost exactly the bookmaker odds and how it contrasts with the frequent claims in the media that the race is a "toss-up". It is hardly a "toss-up" in the sense of a coin flip....unless you only get heads 16% of the time. |

I hope noone is taking anything for granted this election alot of people are disheartened that things havent matched their definition of 'change' and wish to get away from Obama and alot of other people are disheartened by Romneys apparent preference for corporate america over american citizens and dont want to go back to 'republican' values,,,, its gonna be close,,, |

There is no need to vote. Stay at home and eat potato chips and watch porn. If you were going to vote for Obama, he is likely to win anyway so why bother going out to the polls and putting up with all that garbage... If you were going to vote for Romney, he is likely to lose anyway so why bother? Embrace your inner apathy. Who cares!! [/sarcasm] |

To me, I think the article is trying to get you to go see your bookie and put some money down on the election. From the conservatives I've read on here, it sounds like a safe bet with a 5:1 payout.
Why don't all you tea partiers place your entire income and pension on it. Don't worry, if you lose, I'm sure the liberals will understand when you don't want food stamps or welfare. |

Even the people who are pretending to support Romney know that Obama is going to be the next President. They just have to make a good show.
I heard a Romney supporter slip up on national television last night and say that... "our new president Obama..." then he said... um .. er...I mean Romney... Who did that? Did anyone catch that blooper? |

Please watch this ad where Obama uses kids to sing. It's sickening.
Link is at the bottom. Pro-Obama Ad Has Children Singing About an America Where ‘Sick People Just Die’ & ‘Oil Fills the Sea’ Imagine an America Where strip mines are fun and free Where gays can be fixed And sick people just die And oil fills the sea We don’t have to pay for freeways! Our schools are good enough Give us endless wars On foreign shores And lots of Chinese stuff We’re the children of the future American through and through But something happened to our country And we’re kinda blaming you We haven’t killed all the polar bears But it’s not for lack of trying The Earth is cracked Big Bird is sacked And the atmosphere is frying Congress went home early They did their best we know You can’t cut spending With elections pending Unless it’s welfare dough We’re the children of the future American through and through But something happened to our country And we’re kinda blaming you Find a park that is still open And take a breath of poison air They foreclosed your place To build a weapon in space But you can write off your au pair It’s a little awkward to tell you But you left us holding the bag When we look around The place is all dumbed down And the long term’s kind of a drag We’re the children of the future American through and through But something happened to our country And yeah, we’re blaming you You did your best You failed the test Mom and Dad We’re blaming you! http://www.theblaze.com/stories/pro-obama-ad-has-children-singing-about-an-america-where-sick-people-just-die-oil-fills-the-sea/ |

a pro obama ad, doesnt mean its OBAMAS responsibility
this one is actually the brainchild of a disgruntled republican and his ad company (same ones who do the 'got milk' commercials,,btw) from the link provided The ad is the brainchild of Jeff Goodby and Rich Silverstein, of the San Francisco-based Goodby Silverstein & Partners, for their Future Children Project. The Future Children Project states on its website, “Re-electing President Obama is a momentous decision that will require every single voter. What would the children of the future say if we let them down this November?” According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Goodby is a registered Republican who said he has some concerns about “the direction the party is going,” while Silverstein said he was spurred by the “huge implications for the future” the presidential election will have. |
