Ya. I saw on the other side was a so-called fortune, but it was not the usual 'fortune'...more like a quote from an author. I miss the good ol days with the cheesy 'love is around the corner' bit. Nice and vague. Never commits to 'love is around the corner AND you will find it' biznez.

I've gotten pretty vague stuff like "You will succeed" and "Time to make a change" lately as well.

Those are good!

Well, did break up with someone I had been with for nearly two years, so I suppose the change thing did come.

talking cookies creep me out too laugh

For a man it's not so bad.

I also like talking tomatoes, and a nice dish. Or a bird. A talking bird. A talking vixen, a talking cougar. A talking cow. Anything, really.

There is also such things as "the surfing bird", a song sang by The Trashmen.

I have never rejected a talking cookie.

fortune cookies in my town are lame. they say stuff like 'learn to speak chinese' then go on to phonetically print how to say 'banana' in chinese.

I mean what am I sposed to do with that?

Next time I meet up with a chinese person who speaks no english, I reckon I can say 'banana' in a pinch. whew.

I've gotten some like that as well. Though usually it has an actual fortune on it as well and just has the learn Chinese thing on the back.

Canada has two official languages, and all foodstuffs must be labelled in both.

Fortune cookes say the fortune in English, in French; the reverse teaches you chinese words in Mandarin and in Peking dialekts, both in French and in English; and there are lucky numbers listed in the bottom in the international numerical symbols.

Therefore Canadian fortune cookies are usually double the size of the ones in America.

In Russia, where there are seventeen official languages, one for each regional nationality, the cookie is the main course of the meal, as it contains a sheet of paper equivalent in size to the Sunday edition of the New York Times.

Once at a Bridge party (card game) we ordered chinese delivery. My fortune cookie said nothing. Nada. I walked around the party, and kept saying to everyone, "if it wasn't for a defective fortune cookie, I would have no fortune cookie at all."

On the other side of the slip, at the bottom, it said, in print, "This was printed in the USA." At the time all retail goods were already made, manufactured, assembled, packaged, and imported from china. So this was the only product that was still being made in America: A chinese fortune cookie.

Edit: I wrote this before I would come to reading your post, Jacktrades. Honest, no bull.

it could be worse. The cookie could have been giving you a dirty look too laugh

Or worse, the cookie could have screamed at Shiatsu, "eat me, you big hunk of a lover-boy, eat me until I finish my last crunch of ecstasy!!"

Welcome brother .....hope you dig it here.

Ps....I ain't ever had a fortune cookie that tasted good...and I always get some lame crap like, "the slowest horse doesn't always lose the race ".....

What idiots ....the slowest horse ALWAYS loses a race.

That was the "nice guy" thread equivalent in cookie fortunes.

Last time I had Chinese my fortune said men in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Funny, I don't live in a glass house. Hmmmm

I think the idiom for "tossing your cookies" in Chinese is "Throwing stones". Like blowing chunks.

My last and recent fortune said "Love is around the corner" I was at a book festival at the time. I turned a corner alright, but aside from the books I (which were already my purpose for being there) did not find love!!!

Did you find a good book you ended up loving?

"How to use a dildo for Dummies."
