Drip The unnerving sound of dripping water Drip A sudden horrible stench Drip What is that smell? Drip The sound of clattering claws and a thump Drip The noise is getting closer, what is it? Drip The stench is unbearable Drip It's just around the corner... Drip The wet dog comes in and pounces on its owner.

I thought you overused your words at first... but the ending puts it all together. Really well done. Keep writing.
