Which guitar solo is better??
The Eagles "Hotel California" VS. Pink Floyd "Comfortably Numb" |
Pink Floyd, which surprises me as I don't particularly care for them much.
:flowerforyou :Pink Floyd Although I do love the instrumental {they hardly ever play on radio,} at the very beginning of Hotel California... |
When given a choice ... I choose..... BOTH

I think that the Hotel California guitar solo is the epitome of classic rock.
With that said, David Gilmour may be the greatest guitar player ever. |
I've always loved David Gilmour's hand in music. Instead of speeding thru a solo or making it so loud, he chose melody over quantity.

The Eagles "Hotel California"
Takes me back every time I hear it... Love IT!!! |
They are both absolute greats.
What other Classic rock solos should receive an honorable mention??? |
The solo from "money" by Pink Floyd was flat out rocking! And pretty much every Stevie Ray Vaughn song has a great solo
what about "While my Guitar Gently Weeps"??
this is a no brainer...
David Gilmour is one of the best Rock guitarists in the world. |
Very true. But thats not the question here.
Hotel California is good
but as far as solo's go Pink Floyd hands down.... |
clapton hendrix allman
are the best in no paticular order |
besides for best classic rock guitar solo you have to go a long ways to beat Eddie Van Halen with "Eruption"
Pink Floyd
"Mother" as well...one of the best songs ever written. Lyrically and musically. |
