"The Keeper of the Bee"

Off to the farmers market, it's Saturday sunrise
To look, to taste, to sample when much to my surprise

I noticed something fresh and new almost immediately
A spotless booth with golden jars all filled with sweet honey

I drifted over to this place to get a closer look
Was greeted by a gentle man and quick my hand he took

Hello he said, Bee welcomed to my honey booth
Would you care to sample my nectar sweet and smooth

I blinked my eyes once or twice, I must compose myself
The bees were buzzing in my head, this man was sooooo top shelf

His eyes the color of the sea, not blue, not green, but both
My hand in his so comfortably, I cleared my throat and spoke

Hello bee keeper I am Leigh, the pleasure is all mine
I'd love to taste your nectar, on your honey dine

He dropped my hand like it was hot, burning in his palm
Picked up a plastic spoon, reached for the nectar balm

He barely dipped the spoon tip into the honey pot
A tiny taste he offered me, a tease to hit the spot

His honey was the sweetest, the best I ever had
I licked my lips then licked the spoon, God this man was bad

Could I have another, just one tiny taste
Would you fill the spoon, I haven't time to waste

He understood immediately my need was quite intense
He leaned in close, then closer, said let me offer this

Those eyes were baring down on me, my heart was beating fast
I began to contemplate how long pure honey, stored, would last

Let me make an offer I know you can't refuse
The best offer you'll get today, no way that you can lose

I will sell you every jar of my nectar sweet
At a price, please understand, you're never going to beat

His honey now sits crystallizing, top shelf of my pantry
My grocery money for the year with the keeper of the bee…

i swear! i know that honey, and that bee man
he came through town once, yes, by way of caravan

his words spoke gently upon my ear
those gifts in jars, scrumptuous sweet, my dear!!

so smooth was he, almost was i, caught hynotized
and his price, so tempting, of this, i can not lie

but, soon my sneezes got the best of me
i fear, of honey, dear sir, i'm overcome with allergy!!

((sorry, leigh, i had no idea... else, i would have taken some!))

That was nice ,I like honey on biscuits in the morning. I see signs sometimes in people yards they sell honey but i never stoped to check it out but i think I will next time i see one .Usually people are selling tatars or tomatoes.
