Topic: Trying to quit smoking......... | |

At the 9th hour your body starts to detox from stoggs... The healing actually starts at the 9th hour or after the 9th lol ::shrug:: ... yo.. Just quit if you need to.. And well,
Nicotine stimulates seritonin when you smoke it sends extra seritonin to different parts of the brain. The brain creates more areas/points of stimulation during smoking/thru prolonged smoking. To satisfy all these new areas you need to keep continue smoking, and more frequently, ohhhhh the puff feels so right. icky!!!! That is why it is noted as more addictive then certain drugs. And is why it can be treated by certain anti-depressants with success. I seen that on the discovery health channel. lol.... hay I seen on NGC I think that ur harddrive on ur computer gives off CO2?? You can get a CO2 detector for you computer??????? jeezzzzzzzzzzz a loo... we all gonna die one way or another I tell ya what.. |

I smoked after my last relationship failed. My girls kept badgering me to quit, telling me how bad it was for me, how bad it smelled ect... So one day I quit....Then what happens? I caught them smoking Imagine my surprise! But you know paybacks are hell

i smoked for 12 years and have been smoke free for 2 and a half years now. i got lucky, i was quitting anyway because i was pregnant, but my boss at the time was giving everyone who quit smoking $1,000 bonus so that was a good incentive as well.
GOOD LUCK! It's very hard at first, but worth it in the long run, im healthier and feel better now more than ever... |

You can always try again Angel- I failed to state that I had tried several times before I ultimately succeeded.
Also, for me what worked was for about a year I cut down- form close to 2 packs a day to about half a pack a day. So when I finally did quit it wasn't such a big part of my life... I also had to avoid drinking and coffee for quite a while as those were things I strongly associated with smoking--- I was not a fun girl for several months but now I feel SO much better. Feel free to email me if you think it would help at all. But if you feel you can't quit don't feel bad- some doctors have stated that it is harder to quit smoking than quit heroin!!!! I still wish you luck though- you wouldn't believe how great not coughing is... |

Thanks everybody for all of your encouragement. I'm not going to give up and I know in my heart I can do it, but the moment I get stressed, I start again. A really nice lady sent me an email and told me about a medication to ask the Doctor about that helped her to quit after 37 years.
I'm going to look into it for sure this week. Thanks again |

Ask your Dr. about Chantix. New and trying it myself. Works pretty good and is not nicotine based. Check it out at:

That is exactly the med she told me about. My neighbor is trying it now. Has been on it a week but he said as early as yesterday, he was feining for a cig after a two hour timeframe without one because he had gone to a meeting and forgot his cigs.
