i think it's usually the men that are put off with woman who have children. It's a huge responsibility i think..most men don't want that kind of responsibility. IMO :D

I don't think it is a put off but some people do not want kids at all while others want many. I guess the biggest question is whether or not they want to deal with the baby's mama from time to time. Most women are stoked on kids so I don't see how it's much of a problem. They could just want alone time and if you never get a break from your child then it makes a dating life very difficult.

I have done the parenting thing and now want to enjoy the child free stage of my life. I keep running into guys that are trying to raise their "redo" family; the one that they have because they worked such long hours or traveled so much they were not around to raise the first one.

My worry when considering dating a guy who is a parent would be whether they actually have time to date.

My worry when considering dating a guy who is a parent would be whether they actually have time to date. We make time. One guy didn't have much time, but I've dated a few other parents and have had no problems, I have three so I manage to make the time. It's effort but do-able. Granted you won't be spending every waking hour together, but then again we all have jobs too. Very similar. |

I am a good looking male who is a single parent is having a child a put off for women in general? No it's not. What is a put off, is a single parent who puts themself before their child, and who is just looking for a babysitter while they go off and do their thing....whatever that may be. |

I think it depends on how the person views a ready-made family and how well they get along with the children, women with children or that cant have any are more likey ta seek a man with children, myself it depends on how well the father does, good dads are very attractive !

I am a good looking male who is a single parent is having a child a put off for women in general? The single women I know aren't put off by a single man having a child. Instead, the women are put off by a man bragging about how good-looking he is. |

My worry when considering dating a guy who is a parent would be whether they actually have time to date. Actually; that is so true. I tried dating single parents and they don't have the time to date you as they are too busy raising their kid. It certainly put me off on single dads. |

It wasn't the single dad's lack of time that turned me off. It was his expectation to take over the role as the kids mother. The son rejected me and poor daughter was so confused. They were in their early teens. It just did not work. |

I did try though but it was frustrating having date after date canceled because of his kids and they weren't emergency reasons either. |

I isn't to me. But I am also a single mother. But even without that it wouldn't bother me.
