Have you
ever closed your eyes
and felt the rain
fall upon your soul
each drop
seemingly possessing
the power
to heal
loneliness
and wash away
love’s pain

Have you
ever felt
as if you could not go on
yet somehow
someway
you were moved
almost as if
the winds of time
found you
just in time
to kiss you with the breath of hope

Have you
ever felt darkness
and it’s cold and naked disdain
for everything beautiful
only to have the sun
rise and awaken
the best of what life is
love
the kind that remains within you
even through
the worst of times
