I'm not deaf but I have a lot of nerve damage; I'm the guy that if they're is background noise it's hard for me to hear.
But I earned it, as I said in another thread here I've been in themiddle of well over a thousand concerts, etc.
It was worth it

I am deaf in my left ear.

It always make me laugh when I ask someone to repeat what they said as I’m hard of hearing and they repeat it talking slowly and more loudly. Also, if someone is talking to me and they turn their head away I won’t hear anything they said. I ask people to face me when talking to me. It’s especially hard now that people are wearing masks as I can’t see their mouths as I lip read also.

About 20 odd years ago I had a bone transplant in my ear but after a few months I had to have it removed as my body rejected it.
