That people feel the need to belong to a specific religious group? If they were serious in what they believe in, would it not make sense to just practice their respective religious beliefs on their own?

Humans are herd animals. 90% of humans want to fit in with others and will willingly follow what someone more charismatic and a leader, because it's easier than thinking and doing for oneself.

Yes, most people do this. Some choose a religion that is closest to their beliefs, even if they don't believe everything taught in the specific religion, to have a group of folks to fellowship with. I have participated in just as many Pagan rituals as I have Catholic Masses to be with other people who were like minded. |
