Perhaps it will at least help people with the words in the OP. That would be nice. It seems that me and....correction...you and I are the only ones who are bothered by the butchering of the King's English. Here's one for all us sports fans. Whatever happened to athletic ability? All I hear today is "athleticism". I guess the dumb ex-jocks think it makes them sound smarter. It bothers me too, but not enough to fuss over. I also notice punctuation errors. Maybe I'm just anal. |

effect/affect I hate to admit, but this one confuses me most of the time. What bothers me is people using "text speak" and start using their own abbreviations. I can understand if you are trying to conserve space in the message, but if you are just making up your own abbreviations, please explain! ![]() |

my mother caught a typo on some brochures I had made. I used "do" instead of "due" Ok....lock me up and throw away the key ![]() It doesn't bother you? I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd feel like I'd need to re-do the brochures because of that. Bother me? no. I don't find these things a big deal. I corrected it, thank you. But I laughed about it....so no, it didn't bother me It was just a mistake. Mistakes happen. Heck I even posted about it on FB and thought it was funny The way you wrote the post made it sound like you let the mistake go. That's what I was referring to. Yes, I'm well aware that mistakes happen. :) Because my original post was only meant as a contribution to the thread. I didn't feel the need to elaborate |
