Sometimes I don’t know what to say.
Or at times even the correct way.
My words do not betray.
And my heart I do portray.

At times I speak of one all alone.
Walking life’s path on there own.
But all that are here have known.
What it feels like to be a stepping stone.

At one time we have laid out our heart.
Wondering if that was really so smart.
We tossed it out there for someone to tear it apart.
Then before we knew it they would depart.

As they leave us there to mend.
At times it was hard to comprehend.
Why our heart they wanted to apprehend.
To them is love something they just pretend.

Just so they can see.
Others break down and plea.
We must all agree.
Even to a certain degree.

This is one pain.
That at times is hard to explain.
There is nothing that one can gain.
And upon our hearts it puts a strain.

So then for what ever reason there is for one.
That breaks a heart and then run.
There is no reason for all the hurt that was done.
But sooner or later in the long run.

One day they will see.
It is almost a guarantee.
They will have there heart broke and left to plea.
As they watch the one they love flee.

For no one is safe in anyway.
Because it is known someone will come your way.
And upon your heart there game they will play.
And leave you in dismay.

We will pick up the pieces and mend in our own way.
After awhile we will survey.
Our hearts to make sure we are okay.
Then once again our hearts we will display.
Wishing and praying that love will find us and stay.

Regardless we all desire.
To have a certain kind of love that will set our hearts of fire.
We will search till we acquire.
Because in our hearts this is the kind of love we require.

So if we pour out our hearts today.
And tell of a broken heart and how they ran away.
Just know it might make us delay.
Soon we will heal and be looking for that love that will stay.

If we don't put our hearts out there, and yes at times have to mend them, what a lonely life we will have......so I keep putting my heart out, and hoping that somewhere out there someone will realize that we can have something special together..........
