Yes, but the chances of finding someone to date there are lower than just finding someone to talk to, and the type of bar it is makes all the difference in the world. So far guys I've met at my favorite bar have been great to hang with, but spend WAY more time than I do there, which crosses them off my list. A guy who goes to a bar to have a beer or two once or twice a week is fine, but a guy who goes to the bar every day and stays there for hours then leaves plastered is a guy to leave at the bar.

It sure is an option for me. Yes. I just choose to stay away from men in bars. I don't like the idea of picking up some drunken guy, and knowing him being drunk may not be the real him. I hardly drink alcohol these days. My stomach can only tolerate a bit now.

Sure; a glass of wine or a micro brew with some food. Maybe a piano bar with good music, not so loud so you can talk in a normal tone.

is this an option for you? That is how most people over here meet. It's way different than in America and other places. As this is the case, I find it very hard to believe a guy/give him a chance. Is he just out looking for a good time? Or is he genuine?

I do go to bars with friends to have a few drinks, unwind and listen to live music. Not so much to pick up guys, though. I was over clubs a long time ago.

I don't go to the bars often but see no reason with why one can not meet others there just like they could anywhere else..

I very rarely go to clubs anymore...I would not date anyone that I met in a bar/pub as I would not be sure whether our attraction was alcohol induced.

I like some bars, but thinking I might have a serious relationship with someone I meet there... is not very practical..for me...
