Black magic comes across as nitpicky IMO. Someone who is out to hurt others because they get off on it would be bad. Someone out to hurt a person because that person hurt their family, less bad. Any number of ways, tools or no tools can be misused. I consider myself gray. Mostly white, but no qualms going ''black'' to protect those in my sphere. But that's fairly common with shamanic practitioners. Especially those not practicing a sanitized version of shamanism. I don't count self defense (or defense of others) magic as "black". I have no problem doing banishing or binding magic on someone bothering me or my loved one. Here's where I've seen it get a bit tricky. I had a woman who wanted to do spell work to get her son to stop doing drugs. I feel that is interfering with someone's free will. She felt he was a danger to himself and she was just protecting him. What do you guys think? i say do what u gotta do, but it probably wont stop anything...the best thing she could do is healing on him... |

Is "free will" of somebody who bothers you or a loved one which requires banishing or binding magic?, the same as the "free will" of somebody who is under the influence of drugs? |

I'm a little confused... Is "free will" of somebody who bothers you or a loved one which requires banishing or binding magic?, the same as the "free will" of somebody who is under the influence of drugs? That is my question as well. I have no problem with self defense magic. But, when it comes to "helping" others. Where do you draw the line? I would say, if they don't specifically ask for help, you can't force it upon them. Of course, if it were my daughter, I might feel differently. Therein lies the trickiness of it. |

This woman has me thinking more about what I really believe on this subject. She has some good points.

What do you guys think? You can not vibrate for someone else. You can influence them, but you cannot create for them or take on their problems in the hope that you might "fix" them. To pray or cast a spell to effect someone else's life is interfering. You can ask or visualize that they will make the right choices but you have to let go and let them use their free will. And you should be careful what you ask for even for yourself. My aunt prayed to God to help her quit smoking. She was hopelessly addicted. I thought she would never ever quit smoking. After she prayed for help, she was smoking with her oxygen on, as she always did, and her face caught on fire. If she had been breathing in, she would have sent fire into her lungs. It took months for her face to heal. She was lucky to be alive. Needless to say, that event did convince her to quit smoking. That's what it took to get her to quit. |

healing someone will change their personality if u are good at it which is why u arent meant to heal someone that dosnt ask for it...but if someone provokes enough anger in me to use magick to destroy them...i will sometimes opt to heal them instead as the lesser of two "evils"

Do you find that healing those who haven't asked for it is any different than those that do? i.e. Harder for you; feelings of resistance; negative after affects, etc.? |

There is no black or white magick, in reality there is just the will of the magician What about magicians who summon spirits or demons in order to make them do their will? (I don't call this black magick, I just call it insane, but that's just me) So do you actually know of any real cases where a magician summoned a spirit or demon in order to "make them do their will?" (Besides in the movies.) And if so, how would a magician make a demon to his or her will? |

What do you guys think? This is a harder one, and I can see what you're getting at. She would probably do best on sending him a basic healing, with a caveat of "if it's meant to be" type phrasing which keeps it fairly neutral. Then focus on the drugs themselves, becoming useless, not doing what they are meant to, so the son turns away from them. If she wanted to go so far as turning on the people who sell it, and full on "F**K" you type energy. Some would call that black, but it is self defense in protecting the family. I know it's cheesy, but there was this TV show, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues with David Carradine in it, and this one episode kind of stuck with me where he swirled something (reminded me of a cinnamon stick) in this man's alcohol. The guy was killing himself drinking, and Caine basically changed the composition of the drink, so the guy reacted badly to it, and to other alcohol, and he stopped drinking. |

She should probably research soul loss. Personalities can change with healing, but it would be because they are missing parts of their soul, and healing is returning those pieces.

And if so, how would a magician make a demon to his or her will? Personally? No, but I intentionally keep from following the path that leads to those who practice that kind of magick. I don't know how they do it. I believe it was something I first heard of when I read The Necromicon years ago. As I recall the book is a fake but presents a lot of factual information. I think I also read about it in The Lesser Key of Solomon. It's been a long time since I've looked at these books, but, yes the basic idea is to use demons and thought forms to do your will. |

You have some good suggestions there. I like the idea of the work on the drug dealers too. |

Couldn't you goad a person without violating free will? Nightmares, guilt, headaches, etc?

Couldn't you goad a person without violating free will? Nightmares, guilt, headaches, etc? That's an interesting idea too. I've been thinking about this a little more. I violate te free will of my children all the time. I am constantly setting down and enforcing rules against their free will. And, even as adults, I would put down rules as long as they were living in my home. So, I may feel fine with doing work on them to stop a drug problem. (Assuming it was possible to have such a spell be effective). But once you're talking about an adult living on their own and they don't want your help, I think you have to let it go. Prayer and healing energy would be about as far as I would go. |

Drugging someone into a stupor to have your way with them is a violation of free will. Everyone encounters rules. |
