what can you tell him not much you can do other than give your love and support to him call and check in with him and that sorta thing really hard to do much else without possibly putting a wedge in the way blocking any help you could be in the future but hey what do i know |

let him SEE that it hurts you, too...don't cover your emotions. adults have a tendency to do that, to protect children...but then they end up thinking you just don't care.
and really...what CAN you do? give him a phone card, a way to get a hold of you at any time...make certain he can email you...and set up a set time to contact him each week. come up with something that's special just for the two of you... reward the good behavior, of course...and when he acts up, just hug him and tell him you know he'll miss you. |

How wonderful it is him having a loving and caring uncle. Remind him that change can be a good thing. LISTEN to him as you already are. Most parents forget to listen to their youngins and this can be a bad thing but like lulu has suggested get a phone card for him and have him stay in touch. Soon enough he will be meeting new friends, a new life in a new location and life will remedy his fears of this upcoming move.
Good luck! ![]() |

Hm this is interesting for me because I have a nephew that lives with me and he is the same age. He has been with me for 4 almost 5 years and living with him has been an experense for both of us. We learn from each othere. Now I might be moving in 4 months out of CA and he really don't listen to his mother. So knowing that i'm kinda worried how he is going to be when i'm gone. Talking on the phone is one thing but not being there changes everything. Not that I can do to much about it but it is a thought that has been going through my head this last couple days. The only thing I can do is hope what I may of tought him, sticks with him
