In my dreams I see you.
But when I wake and come to.
No longer are you with me.
No longer can I see.
No longer can I feel your touch.
The one I long for so much.
In my dreams you are there.
It seems so unfair.
I have to wait till each night.
Once I turn out the light.
Close my eyes just for you to be.
Right here beside me.
In this world of mine I dream.
Of a life that takes me to the extreme.
Were I’m in the arms of my lover each night.
He whispers sweet nothings and holds me tight.
This world of mine is the best.
Were my mind, heart and soul are at rest.
A lover that fulfills all that I need.
One I can trust knowing he will not mislead.
As I give him my body along with my heart.
Feeling the love knowing he will never part.
The love I feel is like a rising tide.
Reaching a peak as the love flows when he is at my side.
It is beyond anything I have ever known.
No longer do I have that feeling of being alone.
Until the morning comes as I open my eyes.
As I rub them gently and begin to rise.
I look towards my bed.
Seeing all wadded up beside me was only my bedspread.
As I realize this thing that took me to the extreme.
Once again was only a dream.
