Topic: Are your standards too strict?? | |
---|---|
Humm I don't think mine are too high just have not met the right one that can fill them...
I will even date a smoker as long as they understand that they don't light up when in my house, my car and be considerate when around me.... If they are a none drinker they best not frown when I do decide to have a drink from time to time... I want them to have a mind of their own... and know how to use it.... I'm a planner but will go on a spur of the moment as well... as long as I have at least a couple of hours to get ready well unless I'm already ready then lets go... I love to talk so yeah they must at least enjoy conversation.... I prefer they like dogs since I have one and she is part of my life... I do enjoy being around friends and family but like my down time as well... Ohhh and love a man that enjoys cooking....yeah I cook but come on a man is sexy when in the kitchen... They must have a sense of humor for laughter is something I do enjoy and must have every day... Last but least when it comes to the bedroom we both must be satisfied or forget the whole thing ........ Chemistry is a must the eyes and smile get me every time...... If those are too high ohh well I will stay single ....at least I do like me .... |

I stopped driving standards years ago, too much clutching. I'm more of an automatic guy these days. That's hot |

Be able to string together a complete sentence without putting a number anywhere in it or abbreviating impossibly simple words.
Too strict? Maybe. Saves me headaches? Definitely. |

I'm a pretty simple guy, and I don't think my standards are too high, just very important ones.
-Accept me for me. I have my flaws, I'm only human after all. But if you can't handle me at my worst you don't deserve me at my best. -Someone that has their own mind, and can think for themselves. -Someone who has a sense of humor, especially someone who can appreciate my sense of humor, even if she doesn't entirely get it. -Someone who is supportive of what makes me happy, even if we don't have it in common, she won't put me down for it. -Someone who does not type in ebonics... That's a huge turn off. It's "Trying to" not "Tryna" that's just lazy. <<<probably the pickiest one of the list. Beyond that, I'm not that picky. I have to be attracted to a woman, but I've been attracted to different kinds for different reasons, mentally and physically so it's hard to tell, until something clicks. But basicly if what she and I are looking for have enough common ground, and it's just straight up and honest with no games or BS, that's all I'm asking for. |

I dunno why standards and dating go hand in hand. You get that gut feeling when you know this is not the person you should be dating.

If you get a "gut feeling" that you shouldn't be in a particular relationship, then it's probably because of a "standard" you have set. Otherwise, if you have no standards, you'd date anyone and it should work out. |

Well i think when your getting to know a person you both will have standards that may come up out of the blue :) my self i like a lady to be clean in all ways good hygiene and no sexual disease as i even got papers from doctors to prove clean and if she did would be a bonus too cause theres to much crap out there and also i prefer a none smoker but then again i dated smokers to but breath stinks of smoke when kissing lolll and honesty is a must a good loving heart a must a sense of humor is good some smarts too as i know a lot about life and would like her to know at least some :) but i really not to fussy on looks of the lady i care more about the heart :) as looks fade true hearts remain forever cheers

I know I have some strict ones, like smoking, since I have allergies. But what about you? Have you made your peculiarities so high no man/woman can reach them? I perved a couple of women I thought should be having a serious relationship by now just to see what they said. After reading their profiles (unfortunately for me one smoker) I cannot fathom how they can be "available." They both are great sounding, so do you have mental images the guy/gal has to live up to that is not in your profile? Just curious, good thing I'm not a cat! I only have 3 absolute deal-breakers. No kids. No drugs. No alcohol. Unfortunately, that eliminates 114% of all women in the world. Sad but true. |

I do not know if I have set my standards to high or not in my profile and curious what a man viewing it may think? Can I get you OldHippie or any other man that is on this thread to check my profile and let me know from a man's point of view if I have or not, thanks, much appreciated! OldHippie, I do not understand and curious to your last remark ... "good thing I'm not a cat" (?) ... does this mean something to the effect, "Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus" (a book title I heard of but never read)where I believe women are described as cats and men as dogs? I could be mixing the info up here anyway... what did you mean by the last statement? I am not making a funny either, thanks! |
