Jesus says:

"Enter ye in at the strait gate:
for wide is the gate, and broad is the way,
that leadeth to destruction,
and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait is the gate,
and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life,
and few there be that find it."

Matthew 7:13,14


Enter ye in at the strait gate.
The leading thought of the whole discourse is the kingdom of heaven and its conditions.

Hence, when the Lord says, "Enter ye in, " he means into the kingdom of heaven.
Nearly every town in Palestine is surrounded by walls and is entered by gates.
The principal ones are wide, with double doors, closed with locks and fastened with iron bars.
The "strait gates" are in retired corners, are narrow, and are only opened to those who knock.


In this chapter, you will discover:

True disciples of Christ will be men and women cautious in their judgment of others;
conscious of their own faults; confident and earnest in prayer; wary of false teachers and hypocritical profession;
