"Let me get this straight . . . We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a... President who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke! What the hell could possibly go wrong?"

I'm sorry once again, but it' s once again an example for the impossibilities in the fabled "Country of unlimited possibilities", as my grandfather used to call the US.
I have to admit I know little about the current initiative, but I come from ai country where a (more or less) effective public health care system is just a fact - you're sick? You go and see a doctor. Top cost will be 10€/13$$, which you have to pay once every three months. You change jobs? No influence on your health care; your new employer will pay YOUR insurance, no matter what. Get unemployed? No effect on your coverage... You and your family will ALWAYS get decent health care... If anybody cares, you might want to read here (written by Americans who live and work in Germany): http://www.amiexpat.com/2009/08/18/health-care-in-germany/ . |

Donald Trump In matters of state both rotten parties serve the same masters, that being said I think the dems do a better job for the average american of which I am and the republicans do a better job for the elites. I will vote for Obummer and I wish we had a viable third party one that includes some of Ron Pauls views and some progresive views. |

What the hell could possibly go wrong?" Donald Trump social security is not bankrupt, it is built upon trust bearing funds (something a supposed money genius like Trump should be aware of, considering he is a genius at bankruptcies) medicare is likewise not bankrupt, it has four parts (a thru d), which is irrelevant but it is not bankrupt just the same soc sec and medicare cannot go bankrupt due to congressional action, they are both a factor of DEMOGRAPHICS< both financially and socially we have seen a growing number of SENIOR citizens and unemployed, which makes it difficult for people to PAY IN to the system,, this can change and usually has changed when such predictions were made before Trump does anything for attention the statement has so much fallacy in it I dont know where to start nowhere does the bill claim there will be no new doctors ( a bill doesnt employ doctors by the way...) the 16500 figure is over TEN years, or roughly 1650 employees per year ,,a small percentage of which are 'agents' but mostly clerical and customer service the bill wasnt written by a 'committee', it went through two houses of congress where MULTIPLE politicians reviewed , revised, and edited it as well Congress may or may not have read the bill, My money is that some congresspeople did and others didnt (we are talking about 535 individuals when we speak of 'congress') The President QUIT SMOKING,,, the surgeon general provides scientific information, her weight is no moreless at issue than it would be for a doctor who actually TREATS PATIENTS,, and I have seen healthy ones a statement loaded with unsubstantiated opinions backed with no fact,,,,Trump never outdoes himself,,, |

I don't want or need healthcare and the government should not be able to mandate that I have it. I hope the supreme court throws it all out! The judical is the only branch of government making decent decisions.

Car Insurance is different if you domn't want car insurance you don't have a car. The government forcing people to have health insurance is everything America is against. I should have the freedom to choose. Insurance is a privledge not a right.

Having insurance does not mandate that one puts it to use. BUT I'm 99% positive that religious exemptions can be had. Insurance is nothing more than placing bet against the odds and there are a lot of religions, including most Christian doctrines, that believe gambling is a sin. So there are are at least two choices to 'opt' out. |
