Really? Because I know I truly hate going to the doctor and I never want to. But, I go out of fear of getting too sick to function.

I just looked up HIDA scans. They don't sound like a whole lot of fun. The good part is you get to go home right afterward. Good luck, hope it's nothing.

I just looked up HIDA scans. They don't sound like a whole lot of fun. The good part is you get to go home right afterward. Good luck, hope it's nothing.
Well,,lets see,,where to begin,,lol.
I had told my Doc Lady(new) that I was feeling bloated after meals or even light snacks,,and I Had never blown-up in my stomach from that? Then I had told her I had no pain with that,,but I would feel nausea and stuffed for like three hours,,so Then I showed her where I said I was feeling sensitivity at,,and when I pointed to the right side of my tummy beside my right rib,,she said,THATS not where your Gallbladder is? SO, I said then I haven't a clue to whats causing me this discomfort..So she set me up for this scan here.
Now,,before they do this scan,,you have to have a ultrasound performed so that they can detect IF your gallbladder is filled with stones,,,When the tech started performing that on me,,IT was right where I had pointed to my Dr. as to feeling very tender there?
I asked if this was the area she always scanned for the gallbladder and she replied YES,,why,,and after I explained what I had told my Doc and all,,she just rolled her eyes,,and I said, I'm losing my respect a bit here for her assessments,,,lol
Now they took me to a room,,where there was a big machine and a kind of tray,,lol, table I was told to lay down on my back on,,and the med guy tells me he is going to start an IV and stick my arm,so,,as he's doing this he said the exam takes about an hour and half,,and that THIS now was a dye going into my liver,,and to my gallbladder as to be able to watch it as it performs...He then told me that after about an hour he was going to administer a drug that would cause my Gallbladder to work and empty it self,,and THERE,,I may feel some pain,,and he MIGHT have to give me some morphine<noway ,,,lol
SO he then leaves me to wait out that first hour and as I was beat from driving like 800 miles in the last 24 hours to make it here,,I was dozing,,and about the time I drifted off a bit,,I wake to hear the speaker on the ceiling right above my face,,SCREAMING OUT, CODE BLUE, CODE BLUE EXAM ROOM 1, CODE BLUE, CODE BLUE EXAM ROOM 1.
Well,,I'm coming to glancing all around,,half asss thinking that was MY ROOM and nurse,,and heart racing,,as NO ONE was there so I then tried to relax,,,and take a deep sigh as,,mannnnnnnn,,lol
they started the drug,,and said now this will take a half hour and we'll be done,,and as I felt it a little,,it was all over and she said I did fine? I asked if I was good and she said the doc would have to call me after they reviewed the video's of my tests,,
I went and ATE,,,It had now been 11 hours since I had any food or WATER,,two hours after going home,my doc calls me and tells me I was at about 29 percent as to my working abilities of my gallbladder,,and as I tried to get her to be more exact as to is that bad or good,,she said it was 29 percent...lol,,anyway,,I am NOW going to go the next step,,to see and talk with the surgeon as to if HE feels THATS my issue with my bloating and discomfort as to my gallbladder only performing at 29 percent??
I hate to just have them remove it,,IF THATS not my issue here..
But,,it is going more toward,,it will just be taken out..huh
So NOW,,,everyone knows what THIS test is like to go through..
laugh bigsmile fun huh?,,,,lol

Oh heck,,this is nothing anymore to have done,,I just question IF,,this is my problem,,or is 29 percent fucntioning worthy of having it removed,,? so hopefully the surgion can let me know all that,,,lol,as My Doc couldn't tell me?
But we shall see and thanks for caring.... flowers

Well 29 percent compared to 100 percent isn't very good. The way you described the doctor talking to you, it sounded like she didn't communicate very well. Ask more questions. If you feel like they're stupid questions, take my old high school teacher's advice and start off by saying, "This is probably a stupid question, but," and then ask it anyway. Then if you still don't understand something, ask about that. Tell the doc what you understand from what she's said, and ask if you're right. Keep asking in different ways so you can get answers in different ways. Sometimes just wording something differently makes all the difference. Sometimes a nurse can explain things better than the doctor.

Do you have a family member or good friend who could go with you to the next visit, or that you could talk things over with? I find that helps me a lot, because they tend to think of things I wouldn't think of.

Good luck, Terry.
