Broken heart is just a metaphor for emotional pain.....It is permanent "ONLY" if you so choose..Take the time you need to grieve then do yourself a favor and move on...Life is short and you only get one, don't waste it....

I am 52 not 19. I choose to look at this in a realistic approach. Leave the fairytale endings for the children. Honestly; if you look at that it logically; the odds are against me and I accept it.

Its not being pessimistic; its being realistic. I have never had a long term relationship or been married; so that raises red flags to men. Then lets add my age and the fact that men here don't want to date women my age as they prefer someone much younger; so another thing against me. Lets add to that I don't have children or pets so men think I am selfish. Add to that I am independet and served with the mililtary. This is damaging to a man's ego; therefore he would't consider me as someone to date. So, when you factor all that in; then there is no chance for me. So, this is realistic and logical. I am sure you will find someone as older men are more accepted than an older woman. May not be fair but its a logical conclusion.

but IDK that one ever heals entirely...perhaps heal to the point that it is possible to try again. Once we have found someone to share out lives with our hearts will heal

Hey Sweet...I am a glass half full kind of gal...I suffered a heart break that could have broken me if I let it, I didn't...It made me a better person, a stronger person...it made me more determined to love again...Not being able to give and receive love, IMO, is not being able to live life....it is only existing....

I donated my broken heart to science for the eventuality if I should die.

Young medical students will be dissecting it and until such day, after my death, it will be sitting in a formaldehyde solution.

Here comes the good part: I got $200 advance from the University of Toronto med school for that. They promised they will pay the remaining six million dollars payable to me by cheque when the morgue releases my heart to them.

I can hardly wait, oooooo. Big party, about a month after my death. Everybody will be on the house, and you are all invited.

It has been a long time since my heart was broken - really not a lot of issues there...with my relationships that lasted any length of time (really only 3 of those in Ohhhh 28 years) we more faded and slipped away from each other....so by the time it ended we were both ready for that...

Of course you are optomistic; you are a man. Older men are more accepted to women than an older woman is accepted to a man. It is what it is.

I guess i'm just more practical than emotional. Others are more emotional than practical. I don't get when people say "I don't want to die alone". The thing is, you may end up dying alone ANYWAY, whether you're single OR taken. Love doesn't confirm how you're gonna die, imo.

I am more logical than emotional but I get where you are coming from. I agree about what you say when they say about dying alone as the person that you fell in love with dies before you; so of course you will die alone. I think people just use this as reason to be in a relationship.

I think that too. Otherwise, it makes no sense. I get that love can make you happier, but it can't save you from a natural death.
