For all the rest, reserved for you We cook, we clean, we stew, we brew... That look you give will not change fact You can't ignore or pout like that... I want candy, it's dark I like And flowers too, the smell delights ... Last year when you forgot my day I vowed this year you would pay... I let you slide, my mistake This year you give, this year I take... So wash your face and comb your locks Made reservations, eight o'clock ... I'm going to take a long hot bath Primp and preen and wear my hat... I shinned your shoes, I pressed your shirt Laid out your tie and cleaned your dirt... Washed the car, made the bed Paid the bills, god I'm dead... Called the setter, bought her treats Fed the dog, changed the sheets ... Packed the lunches for the kids Dropped them off when school begins... I scrubbed the toilet, mopped the floor I even fixed that squeaky door... On Valentine's Day in 2009 I had fallen really hard for this woman and since I didn't have any money to buy her flowers or candy I wrote her a poem. It seems kinda corny reading it now. To her credit she let me down easy.
Be My Valentine In my minds eye I can clearly see The beauty that is Unique to me She has a body That calls for embrace Then I look at her beautiful face Eyes so blue-- they shimmer like stars Hair so golden-- I admire from afar Sharp as a tack her mind is So desirable I do not kid My heart pounding-- my nerves up in arms My emotions spill out-- as I pour on the charm I take a chance could this be--that This woman exists Sitting in front of me |

What that poem is saying is that when I close my eyes and imagine the most beautiful woman I could dream up when I open my eyes she's still sitting in front of me. That was the last time I was inspired to create anything. I have not written anything since. I am heartbroken.
