He touched my soul with his hand,
He touched my life with his plan.

Long ago in the land of dreams,
I heard a whisper as it seems.
Words I heard were from a voice,
Words I heard to make a choice.

Long ago in this world of man,
I saw a tree within the plan.
To grow together holding hands,
To grow together with no demands.

Long ago in the land I see,
Pastures of gold are not free.
Working with the one you love
Working with the guide above.

Long ago you passed away,
I was there yet did not stay.
I could not see your soul inside,
I could not see you did not hide.

Long ago in the sea of dreams,
I saw you pass without the screams.
I wish we could have spoke some more,
I wish we could have walked the floor.

Long ago in the land of men,
We made amends within this glen.
Shook upon the things we talked,
Shook upon the ground we walked.

Long ago a man was born,
Life tattered, ripped and torn.
As a man we learned of things,
As a man the songs did ring.

Long ago in the land of whispers,
Man did sing about the whiskers.
Grey will come upon the face,
Grey will come to take my place.

Long ago on this face you see,
Grey did come to be with me.
Yet to see upon this face,
Yet to see the grey in place.

Long ago they look to me
Looking long they did not see.
Yet to see the grey in me,
Yet to see the truly free.

Long ago I did know,
Of a life that did not grow,
Now to look upon this face
Now to look no grey in place.

Long ago in a far away land,
You did pass, I held your hand.
Now some years have passed away,
Now some years I’ve seen the day.

Long ago we had the dreams,
Living life without the screams.
Now in love with one like me,
Now in love, now you can see.

Looking now to Long ago love
Looking now to heights above.
Seeing many dreaming you see,
Long ago dreaming of things to be.

Gyphyn I feel for you and yes your Dad knows I understand how you feel it will be 4 years this Jan since I lost my Dad but then they never leave us as with your words your Dad will always be with you.

Its been 6 yrs since he passed, yet I can still hear his laugh and remember some of the things he used to sing and play.

The bad times have faded and the good times seem to last forever. As this poem lives so does he.
