On this day in 2008 the national debt was 9.3 trillion and the total U.S. debt was 49.9 trillion. Today 3 year after Obummer the national debt is 15.2 trillion and the total U.S. debt is 56.5 trillion. Source: http://www.usdebtclock.org/index.html

on the day after BUSHS final budget expired,,, the debt was 11.9 trillion

today, the debt is at 15.2 trillion , an increase of 3.3 trill

to put in perspective, about the same increase as we experienced in Bushs final term,,,,when the debt rose from 7.9 to 11.9 trill

about the same increase, wonderful

defending obummer no matter how bad it gets huh. remember, he is the one who promised change (he promised change and according to you the trend continues)

I also remember all the campaign sppeches he mad how it is unacceptable raising the ceiling and how President Bush was a bad President for it and should be removed from office blah, blah, blah and then he goes and does the SAME thing. laugh

The debt was 11.9 trillion 9 months after Obummer took office! Bush's ending deficit would 10. some odd trillion! Bush most likely added 5.5 trillion in 8 years whereas Barry is on par to more than double it.

the presidents budget runs from october of the previous year to september

BUSHS last budget ran from october of 2008 to september of 2009

when the debt rose from 10 trill to 11.9 trilion,,,

First of all.. $700 billion for TARP was counted as part of the 2009 deficit..

The majority of that money as loaned as TARP I has been paid back.

Secondly, Obama's stimulus of $817 billion is counted as part of the 2009 deficit.

So the idea that Obama started at $11.9 trillion is disingenuous.

its not disingenuous, its fact

OBAMAS budget began when it began,,,,

the 'stimulus' was signed by Bush

correction, tarp was signed by Bush
the stimulus was signed by OBama

and we were discussing DEBT, not deficit

Oh.. so you are saying that we don't count $817 billion of borrowed money towards the debt?

It just magically appears and then disappears..

I love modern accounting..

President Obama is no different from any previous one.

Better than some, not as good as others.

Change will never come under the current political system...

That system is way broke.

Only the rich can hold office in the United States of America.

It has been that way for many years now.

gone are the days when a man could walk from his farm on sunday and be running for President before he reached his destination.

Now it requires 17 million per state.

and makes me sick to watch.

Campaigns have become the 'boxing ring' of the rich and the elite.

Mr. Obama ain't black (or white) in this measure.

Just another rich man.

Playing with all our lives.

and the same brush paints all politicians in the USA.

A few rich folks playing a game of oneup.
