There is no hard and fast way to explore the supernatural.
NO man can even begin to understand God on his own. That is WHY it takes God FIRST DRAWING man unto him..... |

Describe for me something physical interacting with something not physical. That would depend on what you think is physical, and to you, everything that exists is "physical." Anything else I might describe to you, you would either claim that it is physical or that it does not exist therefore you would call it an hallucination or imagination or whatever. You have all your bases covered so you think you are the end all of knowledge. So you can continue to feel like you have all the answers until you yourself become personally enlightened to spirit, if that ever happens. Meanwhile, my heart is filled with joy and I have better things to dwell on than stunted materialist thinking. |

Describe for me something physical interacting with something not physical. You. man is body, soul, and spirit.... You have all your bases covered so you think you are the end all of knowledge. I would describe it as, the foundation (philosophical foundation)of what I do know is solid and self consistent.
I clearly do not know everything. Meanwhile, my heart is filled with joy and I have better things to dwell on than stunted materialist thinking.
2 things. 1 no one is forcing you to post in the science and philosophy forum, these forums have many categories which do not ask for deep thinking. 2 Calling a philosophy that has supported all of modern technological, medical, astronomical and really every other avenue of modern knowledge stunted is really grossly shortsighted. I think a more fair view would be to acknowledge the power of materialism, and try to offer something unique. That is hard work however, and probably the reason no modern philosophers spend much time with anything other than materialism. |

Foundations and laws are necessary to hold a universe together.
But its clear that they are not the whole story. P.S. Perhaps it is stunted by its own design. Maybe limited would be a better (kinder) term. But clearly there are boundaries. |

...and this is one of them. This is not what I would call "deep thinking." It is totally mental. Mental is not deep, it is simply endless and complicated and often goes no where. Kind of like an obsessive compulsive person counting ceiling tiles. Monk. |

Kind of like an obsessive compulsive person counting ceiling tiles. Monk. We each of us have our function as we are all part of the universal mind. No single individual can know everything, so this knowledge has been dispersed among the multitudes. I leave the computer programming to the programmers. I don't envy them their knowledge. I could have learned that stuff or I could have learned to play the guitar, but I decided to be an artist. Scientists have their function and spiritualists have their function. The difference is, the spiritualists realize that scientists have their function, and scientists think that they are the end all to everything and spiritualists are not necessary or do not exist or know nothing. That's the difference. |

Yea, I definitely think differently. I believe you dont know it if you cant show it.
Art is actually all about this. Just imagine an artist who says they have the best technique, go on and on about how you suck compared to them, but will never show you the art work itself. Would you believe them? |

Just imagine an artist who says they have the best technique, go on and on about how you suck compared to them, but will never show you the art work itself. Would you believe them? I've never known an artist with that kind of ego, but I would sure like to see their work if they were trying to sell it to me. I certainly would not buy it sight unseen. Otherwise, It would not matter one bit whether I believed them or not and I would not care if they were lying or bragging or whatever. So unless a person has a vested interest in the subject or what is being sold, it does not matter if they are lying or if you believe it or not. I've known people who do nothing but tell tall tales. They are just tall tales and it doesn't matter if they are true or not unless you are invested in the tale in some way. |

"I don't buy it sight unseen!"
The ultimate refutation of the conspiracy theorist! |

"I don't buy it sight unseen!" The ultimate refutation of the conspiracy theorist! I'm talking about buying a work of art. I really don't get your analogy. |

When it comes to conspiracy theories I always think of one phrase:
"Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after me." |
|
|

Agreed.
No such thing as a 'conspiracy'. It's just a word invented by monkies Defined by an entity known as Websters. |
