must you go to church as a christian? Welcome to Christian Singles Forum, whobedat! The Word says: "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:25 It is important to share God's Word, to baptize new believers, and to observe the Lord's Supper. These are a part of the continuing the work of the Spirit on earth. The Spirit, the Water, and the Blood. The THREE that bear witness on the earth. |

John came baptizing with water to make manifest the Son of God.
The Baptizing of Jesus with water was the Beginning of Christ's ministry. "Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased." Luke 3:22 3yrs later... His blood was shed on Calvary for the remission of our sin. In summary: From the beginning... the "Water and the Spirit"; and to the ending of His physical or earthly ministry...the shed "blood" of our Dear Saviour. These "three" bear witness to the people on this earth. I John 5:8 It is every believers work to show or tell the Gospel of Christ that all may believe. We bring others to Church that they may hear the message and experience the baptism ...while there, others may witness their confession of faith in God's Son for our salvation. We welcome one another into the fellowship of believers and observe the Lord's Supper (the bread and the fruit of the vine) in one accord. "And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me." 1Co_11:25, Meeting often to study and hear the Word preached, pray together, teach and exhort one another. "How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?" Romans 10:14, |

the 'church' (for me) are the people, not the building
so congregating with other christians is important to share and grow in our faith,, attending a specific building to do it is not as necessary just my opinion,, |

You're right.
Early disciples met from house to house. I have a lot of friends and family members who have taken that route. Which is something that is happening all over the country. As more people are becoming disenchanted by the mainstream pre-established, yet vastly changing, public intitutions. |
