Have this in mind. No scammer can use his real identity or his location. Nigeria is the giant of africa and a famous country, that is why scammers always use it. Please change your bad thought about nigeria because it is God's own country. Thanks to Prophet TB Joshua.

well stop the scammers from trying to get money . go do a job and earn your money , like every else has too

It's true that we have no real way of knowing where people are from, other than by what they say. And what they say isn't always reliable.

But I do know that there are an awful lot of them claiming (either at first, or later on) to be in Nigeria. I cannot assume that none of them are actually there -- I simply have no way of knowing. I do know Nigeria has a specific law on the books to deal with scammers -- that's an indicator, if nothing else. Why have a law for a problem that doesn't exist?

And I get scammers from Ghana, and from the US as well (usually New York and California), so it's not like ALL scams are Nigerian-based.

But Nigeria is a red flag. There's a reputation there, that's been built up over a number of years, and it's not going to go away anytime soon.

its fine i really dont think anyone labels a whole county by a few scammers.... and we as americans have them too.., they are called politicians
