I wonder if some of us have the wrong signs. I keep hearing that the calendar is off, or something, so many people are not actually the sign they think they are. http://zodiacfacts.blogspot.com/2011/01/response-for-new-sign-zodiac-chart.html |

Astrological preferences. Interesting. No clue :-) This Pisces swims with them all. This Pisces does too I found Pisces particularly promiscuous and willing to accommodate requests. They are the fish of the heavenly waters that quench the thirst of the Mirob trees on the Mounds of Herova. I've never been promiscuous nor wishy-washy ... I am not particularly easy to catch but when I am -I am devoted (and adventurous ) 1. Fish signs are per definishon wishy-washy. They live in water. 2. A fish can be very devoted after it got caught. In fact, it can't act any other way. Call it the commitment to the bottom of the bucket in a small row boat. 3. For the same reason, it's extremely hard for a fish to be adventurous after it finds itself in the bottom of a bucket in a rowboat. "Hey, I'm going to climb mount everest, or invent the portable transistor radio!!" Well, it has to do that in a big hurry if he wants to finish it before ending up in the Big Frying Pan in the Sky. Uh ... no ... fish are per definition fish Throughout history the sign of Pisces has not only been represented by two fish but also the dolphin. |

I used to pretend I was a sag at one point bc my teacher was one and he was really into signs. I never understood them but I find the stories pretty interesting. I've grown to really love my sign and think for most part is pretty accurate despite it being fluff. I am glad you think this way. I agree a hundred percent. The trick is that each sign's descriptions apply to the sign's population. They read their own description, they analyze it, they compare the description to their own types, and come out the other end saying "yep. This matchers. This is me. Right. I buy this." Whereas if they read the descriptive typology of any other sign, then they would see that those descriptions are also smack right on "them", they are equally as true a description of how they are, as their own signs. So the trick is, from an astrologer's point of view, is to create descriptions that fit absolutely everyone, and then they have to do nothing else to do about sorting things out. Astrologers are successful for their clients are extremely inwardly-turning, they are looking for themselves, they are trying to find themselves, and in their great angst they don't read the star sign description of the guys next in line. This is a hoax which is not based on evil, or on motivation to defraud the public, or the like. Many would claim it is, and that it is a kabal or a conspiracy, but it is not. It is an evolved system built on a basis of a lot of gullible, emotionally orphaned people. And the astrologers themselves, the ones who do readings and give advice, are not evil, either. Not any more than the average person, at any rate. They are enthusiasts, the more studious ones do a lot of research. But they are honest sharlatans, sincere sharlatans. They give GOOD advice to their clients, mostly. Most astrologers do this for a long time, and as practice makes masters, the astrologers learn the tricks of the trade, which other counsellors apply, and some other counsellors learn in school before they start to practice. These other counsellors are social workers, psychologists, the like. Music therapists, art therapists. An average astrologer only lackst he basic foundation of academic training in his or her position, otherwise he or she can be potentially as good and as effective a counsellor as a Ph.D. in psychology. All they need is some good insights into the human psyche, broad experience which they can glean by their contancts with clients, and a sense of knowning what people want to hear. They the astrologers can experience on their own. I call astrologers the naturopaths of psychiatry. Nothing wrong with that, and those should throw the first stones, who never go or never have gone to a chiropractor, acupuncturist, massager, physiotherapist, Chinese doctor, etc. So I agree with you wholeheartedly that it's fluff, and I am extremely joyed that you think so too. And lo and behold, you are also right in saying that fluff is effective, because I also beleive it is. Humans are marvellously complex. The medicine of one won't help another, sheerly because the other believes it's sharlatanism. This... is quite powerful as a trait of a species. It's like if there were lions in the Savannah who were commited to vegetarianism, and they survived just beautifully among the many lion's dens who were hunting carnivores. Or like mosquitos, who instead of sucking blood, sucked "d", but then they got censored by the US food, firearms and drug administration, which has the People's mandate of "stamping out fun all o'er the land as much as possible, to make people want to increase their efficiency at work." I am digressing. I was really happy to read this post by you, Mariah. |

I am pisces and never been a cheater. I always maintained long-term relationships. My first lasted 16 years. Okay. I don't doubt that. I don't have the right. I speak in general terms and/or in general jokes that per se ought not to be read as a statement of purpose or statement of claim or statement of credo. |

^ this was an apology slash explanation. I am not judging you or anyone else. I like to make jokes, and part of my humour involves carrying on and extrapolating from the juxtaposition of clashing claims.
So I apologize if I sounded like I was out to offend you or insult you. That was not my aim, but if you thought it was, then the blame is on me. Again, I did not mean to doubt your virtue. This apology I extend to and mean it to apply to all of you who thought I was out to insult or offend you as a person or as a member of a community or of a type of people. |

Can I keep this for cut/paste or are there copyright issues? Cut and paste, use it as many times as you like, but name the source when you use it. You see, I have given up hope of ever making money with my writings, and I give them away for free, but I should like to retain the credit for my better work. You're right, this came out pretty good, huh? "Yo, Leo Tolstoy, eat your heart out." |

I keep hearing that the calendar is off, or something, so many people are not actually the sign they think they are. http://zodiacfacts.blogspot.com/2011/01/response-for-new-sign-zodiac-chart.html Very interesting. Thanks. Unfortunately, it seems inconclusive still. The new one argues with the Greeks and only includes births past 2009? Im still left wondering about the diversity of calandars which I assume were created without regard for the zodiac, and slightly different here and there across history. Im a virgo on the new one instead of a libra. but I was not born after 2009, and dont know if the 13th sign is accepted and should be tended to. Im still at square one, Im afraid. Non beleiver. Im quite a bit Virgo. Alas, born before 2009. Again, absolutely not all the things Virgo says I am, any more than the Libra. Massive contradiction. Oh well. It takes the fun out of some of it, if you just cant beleive it. You know, the sense that Im not a fit to what they say I am so I dont belong. Erm... try looking at descriptions of totally unrelated signs, like capricorn or pisces or whatever, and if they are much more off than what your rightful sign says... then you can become a believer. |

Erm... try looking at descriptions of totally unrelated signs, like capricorn or pisces or whatever, and if they are much more off than what your rightful sign says... then you can become a believer. Ive done just that and found little variation from my original idea of 'they have parts of us all, each and every one, none being a better or worse description than the other to any great extent'. Interesting. They each describe me to a tee. I don't think there is many or much contradiction involved in the descriptions... if one says "you are warm and approachable", then the other won't say "you are cold and off-standish", but will say, instead, "you are reserved and cautious in your approach." To me these are not COMPLETE oppositories, and with a little soul-serching you can find instances in your recent behaviour, which may reflect that you have all four descriptors, although sometimes it needs four distinct instances of your recent behaviour to prove that. All parts of all descriptions are always positive worded. Then why shouldn't I believe them? I don't hear these things from anyone else, since Mom died, so I take what I can get. It's actually a miracle I am so much not an astrology-aficionado. Hey!!! A miracle. I have to stop before I talk myself to become a Jesuit Monk. You see, they are celibate, but hey, I'm too... for different reasons, true, but still. And they are respected... by some people... and I am not. Shuddup andrew already!!!! |
