In whatever sense comes to mind, man. It's an old saying, the question is, in your opinion, is there any truth to it?

Do nice guys finish last? That's the question... your thoughts? BUT,,,good girls will never let a NICE GUY GO.... |

Let me preface this by saying that my medication has my head in a thick fog, and organizing my thoughts is rather challenging. You have been warned.
My thoughts? Yes and no. Long winded explanation on my thoughts below. Nice guys finish last quite often, but not always. I say this because the culture that permeates nearly every level of the US when it comes to relationships tends to focus on physical connections rather than emotional and even spiritual connections. In my mind, the emotional connection should come before the physical connection. If you and your partner are not compatible in terms of "the rhythm that your hearts beat to", then it's a good probability that the relationship may not last as long if this were not the case. We've gotten ourselves into a "live for today and don't worry about tomorrow" mentality, and it's the ones who plan ahead who are "missing out". I lost my train of thought somewhere along the line here, and I thought it got switched to a siding. I'll post more if I can remember what I was going to say after this.... |

For a dude who's head is in a fog, I ithink you sound like you are on to something, man... right on.

And all the a$$holes are living lives of great wealth and luxury. Considering the fact that humans by nature are for a lack of a better term "corrupt" (i.e. morally flawed) the fact that the liars cheaters and general filth of the moral realm tend to prosper shouldn't really be a surprise. Does it catch up to them in the end? Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't. And again, I'll bring up the current culture that we're living in as part of the problem. How is this an issue? It's rather simple, and one word comes to mind. Greed. This is, again, part of human nature; but the fact that being greedy/selfish is more often than not viewed as a good way to be successful is not a good thing (dUh). There are other facets of Human construction that contribute to this issue, but that is the one I'm focusing on for now. My brain is rather tired at the moment. And foggy. |

What drugs are you on my friend? Stuff for Schizoaffective disorder (mood stabilizers, antipsychotics, and an antidepressant to boot). |

It's important to know the difference between being nice and being kind.

All nice guys are either married or gay.
I don't think they are in da race to catch gals, to finish LAST. A lot of women prefer a boyfriend with tight abs and a harley davidson... But will marry someone simple, caring, understanding & stable. Nice Guys aren't racing to finish last... |

not all nice guys are married. I know a few, women never look heir way, unless they need a shoulder to cry on, because the dude with the harley beat the **** out of her.

I remember being on Prodep (Fluoexetine) once when I was in my teens, it made me feel like Coleridge under the spell of opium. You are doing great. I wish you fast and complete recovery. |

I feel like this thread is giving both opium and the manipulative a bad rap.

I think so. If a nice guy is at a party and everyone is being mean no matter what, he can only leave. A true nice guy won't even condemn the goings on at the party because people are just having their own fun.
