my point exactly. as demonstrated, a lot of people get insecure about weight, to the point of insulting remarks. i didn't say i LIKED being small, but it's a fact of life for me, and i'm making the best of it. the rest of my family genetically is about 6 feet tall and 160+ pounds. i stunted my growth in wrestling for 7 years.

thanks Hawaii and Gypsy nothing wrong with thin .Its all good.
I just dont appreciate no class excercise till you drop people telling me why I'm fat.By the way I could torture myself by eating salad every day and still get shot or hit by a bus tommorrow so I'm having a pizza today.

not bashing Gypsy. I just wish people felt okay and accepted as they are. Preferences are absolutely fine. We all have them ... iti s the stereotypes which cause me to shake my head. People are all just people - I love the diversity!

that's a different story. no need to go on a pain diet or anything. there are tons of guys who don't like skinny girls too, and i don't recommend changing for someone else. personally, i think i'm worth a few situps. more important than weight is body shape, and i've been perfectly happy dating motivated women who were 140 pounds, without them needing to be annorexic. it just meant laying off mcdonalds, going to the gym with me, and running with me.

originally, i focused on stereotypes because it's a hard but true fact of life. it doesn't mean the stereotype holds true. a young person wouldn't look down on another young person for driving fast, for instance.

a stereotype about me is that being so small i look easy to beat up. i look like i'm about 130 pounds (if i blindly ask a stranger) but that's still tiny relative to most other people. it doesn't mean it's true, and i've had people twice my size start fights with me and lose (including an off-duty bouncer standing up for his friend who was sexually harrassing my date).

We live in a society that glamorizes anorexia and huge tits. It doesn't make sense, but it's the reality. A woman who, like Gypsy, is naturally slender is the exception — most starve themselves or have some other eating disorder. Being extremely skinny for reasons other than genetics or a high metabolism is unhealthy. I have no doubt that Gypsy is quite healthy.

On the flip side, people who are quite large usually have health problems that result from their obesity. The heart works much harder, the joints in the knees and hips wear faster, back pain and foot pain are more common, diabetes and high blood pressure are more likely, infections of various sorts are more frequent, etc. Yes, you might get hit by a bus tomorrow, in which case the salad you ate today would be moot, but the goal isn't to live forever — you want the years ahead of you to be as healthy as possible. You want more than to merely be alive — you want to live (i.e., be active).

Carrying a little extra weight is worse for men than for women, because of the increased risk of heart disease. A little extra weight on a woman, while not as healthy as a trimmed and toned body, doesn't significantly damage health. But we're talking about 20 lbs. or less extra, not 50 lbs. or 100 lbs.

Now, having said all of this, I think we should just let people be who they are. If someone is unconcerned with the health risks of being a little larger, why does that really matter to anyone else? Many people have such a visceral reaction to others they consider to be "overweight." We don't have the same reaction to people who skydive or commute long distances every day, yet we consider it worse for someone to have a big belly. It's ludicrous.

In the end, we can do so much more for our health by being happier and reducing stress in our lives. And that alone often results in weight loss, increased energy, etc.

for me it comes down to this... a woman, or any person for that matter should care enough about themselves to keep in shape. If they dont care about themselves, why should i care about them. your weight is your choice. Mabe thats not politically correct but it is correct.

I already put this in another thread but it rings true here too:

I may be fat, but you're ugly, and I can diet.
