And, yet, so many are willing to do just that. Not just willing, but they are demanding it. The cops do what they do because they are told that is what is expected of them. The problem is much higher up than your average street cop.

I said "little Eichmans" I did not say they rivaled Eichman or made Eichman look like a boy scout.

I stand by my choice of words.

That being said I have to go buy a new Christmas tree. Going with one of those made in China prelit trees.

for years I did a balled tree and my yard is full of pine trees I love them but simply tired of the major job of replanting and its getting difficilt to manouver my rideing mower around them all. I would be a glutton for punishment if at this stage I didnt modify my ways.

Hope to get back to the braincandy threads but I am also going to some crazy fundraising horse race thing with prime rib and open bar.

My horses name is Ralph Steadman.
I am curiouse to see if anyone recognizes the name at the races.

Ok News on the races.

I wont a hundred and twenty five on a side board drawing my horses didnt win.

I had two of the five last numbers on the board and was willing to split the two fifty four ways being I had two.

One guy didnt wish to split and we drew again I was down to one ticket and three others again I offerd to split and survived the next drawing.

I offered to split again and one guy refused he was the the next one out.

Me and the last guy split two fifty.

I took my winnings and lost fourty on the side races.

For the last race they auctioned off a horse I won a bid for twenty five on one of the ten horses.

I named it YellowRose.

It was a fiesty beast with a massive heaving hind end. Foaming at the mouth and stomping its feet eager to run. Its ears seemed to be chewed up like an old tom cat its eyes two black empty sockets focused on the finish line like a true champion.

It came in Last place.
still came out 60 bucks ahead and got laid and drunk.drinker

Walmart is going to get sued for sure.

Arizona Law:

13-1805. Shoplifting; detaining suspect; defense to wrongful detention; civil action by merchant; public services; classification

C. A merchant, or a merchant's agent or employee, with reasonable cause, may detain on the premises in a reasonable manner and for a reasonable time any person who is suspected of shoplifting as prescribed in subsection A of this section for questioning or summoning a law enforcement officer.

Was grandpa ddetained in a reasonable manner?

I also watched an interview on local news with the grandson...he said he had a video game and people were trying to grab it out of his hands. Grandpa stepped in to help. The kid is very believable and I am sure a jury will give him and grandpa a huge $$$$ settlement.

F Walmart

The only thing that will be questioned in court is the actual stop(Why he was stopped in the first place). The takedown was clean, the guy was resisting and people can get hurt by a basic takedown(which is NOT an abuse of force) and it sometimes does happen.

Me too. I know these laws really well as this is the job I do on a daily basis and I am damn good at my job. I have NEVER been sued, questioned about abuse of force or even had the HINT of that on me or ANYONE I have trained.

A 'basic' appendectomy usually goes as planned, but if the doctor screws up and the patient gets hurt (or worse) do you think an "OOPS!" makes it all good?

$hit happens, again I would have handled this WHOLE situation differantly as I rarely ever put a shoplifter in handcuffs, but $hit hapens when you take someone to the ground they can get hurt etc, it happens. Now if it found this guy didn't commit a crime then there could be a REAL problem here but no one knows all the facts yet.............

I am glad all I have to do is run four robot fed finish lathes and not blow my own horn and go home after eight hours and know my medical, pension and family are secure and I dont have to pretend to be an applogist for a creeping police state.

Hey thanks for keeping those prices down anyhow, we all know what a huge crime shoplifting is.

And all that I have to do is work on crapily designed cars in order to get an extra 100,000 miles more out of them than billions of $ and thousands of engineers planned on. frustrated

Actually I hate that part of it and I hate going hands on. I like the investigating part of it and taking the employees out for large thefts and also getting the mental edge over the shopliters and talking them back into the office rather then dragging them back.

Oh yeah, I am paid VERY nicely bigsmile
