to pyxxie13: I can completely understand where you're coming from and I agree. Physical affection is like balm for the heart. Think of how wonderful it feels after an agonizing day of whatever it is you do and just want to relax when someone does something as simple as a gentle hand brushing across your shoulder. It immediately feels like pounds have been lifted from your back.

I've always stood by the hug for these reasons. Think of how nice it is when you are saying goodbye to a friend and they give you a hug before they leave. A lot of people take it for granted but if you really think about these little moments and how it enforces the friendship I bet you at least have warm memories.
