Topic: BREAKING > Obama: All but 150 U.S. troops out of Iraq by end | |
---|---|
Bush had no intention of getting out of Iraq ever so this pac was just a "because something had to be written down" type thing. Remember the mission was accomplished in 2003 according to him so why were we there after that? If I remember correctly it was the end of combat operations. Then we stayed there through the elections and to train their security forces. |

I don't really care anything about it being an elction year. Bush should get credit for making the pact with Iraq. Obama had nothing to do with it. I don't recall Obama signing any agreement with with Iraq. You want to give GWB credit for the murder of thousands of Iraqis!!! are you serious. He should be brought before the ICC for war crimes along with his British counterpart Blair and Cheney as No 1 warmonger. Nope I'm not giving credit of any "murders" to anyone. Go ahead bring a lawsuit against them. You forget congress also agreed and voted to go into Iraq. And before you say it NO Bush didn't make up the intell recieved by several different countries. And WMD was not the only reason for going into Iraq. |

Didn't Bush sign an agreement with Iraq in Nov 2008 to ha e them out by the end of 2011? Obama did sign an agreement,, he actually pushed for it sooner, but advisors and military advised against it,,, I know of no agreement with Bush REVISION: Bush did sign the SOFA in 2008,,,election year OBama is apparently upholding it,, likewise, in an election year both can take credit for bringing them out,,, Bush wasn't up for reelection so that has nothing to do with it. "The U.S.–Iraq Status of Forces Agreement (official name: "Agreement Between the United States of America and the Republic of Iraq On the Withdrawal of United States Forces from Iraq and the Organization of Their Activities during Their Temporary Presence in Iraq") is a status of forces agreement (SOFA) between Iraq and the United States. It establishes that U.S. combat forces will withdraw from Iraqi cities by June 30, 2009, and all U.S. forces will be completely out of Iraq by December 31, 2011 On December 14, 2008, U.S. President George W. Bush signed the security pact with Iraq". I don't really care anything about it being an elction year. Bush should get credit for making the pact with Iraq. Obama had nothing to do with it. I don't recall Obama signing any agreement with with Iraq. you left out the part about the potential for 'negotiations' which could change those dates OBAMA has seen to it the original negotiation is standing,,, |

Im finding it ironically delicious that the thing he was most attacked on (not being a 'military' president) is showing to be an area where the most progress has been made,,,,

All this tells me is that war with Iran will most likely start before Christmas now. You don't build the biggest military base ever in Iraq and not expect to use it. Our troops will simply be redeployed somewhere else. Actually, Syria may take place before Iran, or both and all out WWIII which is all planned.

Iran might 'meddle' a bit but they are not likely to take overt action directly to 'control' Iraq. North of Iraq is Turkey. (not likely to allow a full scale invasion) South of Iraq is Saudia Arabia. (also not likely to allow overt action). Iran has its own internal problems. (reaching out to grasp Iraq would weaken them to those internal problems). All we should see is bluster and counter bluster. |

Conservtive estimates claim the Iraq war cost american tax payers three trillion dollars. Does anyone know what that amazeing sum of money bought americans?
Put Bush on trial for war crimes! Occupy wallstreet! |
trials cost money too
and sadly, politicans dont work in vaccuums and have PLENTY of checks and balances that allow and validate their decisions a trial against any president for such things (barring their sexual affairs) involves far too much follow up in prosecuting all the 'accessories' who would have to be considered,,,, Im not for a trial, Im for learning from our mistakes, possibly passing legislation to keep them from happening again,,, |

It's Bush's fault!
He signed the Contract to get out! |
its Bush and OBama, one signed and one fulfilled
similar to the bail out,,,with the only difference being further negotiations that were involved in the bail out under obama |
It only took Obummer 3 years to do what he said WOULD BE.... "The first thing I will do when I am President.....", and then ONLY because he was OBLIGATED to, and FORCED to by the new Iraqi leadership. The same leadership WE proped up, that has strong ties to the Iranian Sheites! Again, YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK! |
your tax dollars AND your government ( ie, president AND congress)

More troops in Afghanistan, Syria, boots on the ground in what is it Uganda now. So we went from 2 to 4 to 3. I guess that could be progress towards getting us out of wars. But 1 step forward 3 steps back tends to make progress dificult. |
