Idk bout the rest of u but Idk if online dating things even work...soo many of us just see a few words or pics on the bottom of the page and are like next..at times as u can say judge a book by its cover before u even really get to know them for who they are...guess I am just lil frustrated as anyone else becuz I am tired of not takin seriously and not havin the same values as I do,that's real and true close to my area and kinda with age...Idk anymore sometimes it just hurts that you hear all the time u are a wonderful person but don't wanna lose the friendship yada yada...gets boring after awhile...sorry for the venting,just seein if anyone is like me? Or am I just plain to much?

It does work for some people. There are some on my friends list who have found "the one" here. But there are others (such as myself) who have been here forever and have yet to find a suitable prospect.

I think there are a lot of variables. Good relationships take a lot of work, and if you can find someone who's worth it, then it's worth it to put in the work.

But I've met 9 people from various sites, and those experiences were worse than every horror film every made, times a billion. Well, maybe not that bad. Maybe only half a billion. Still, when the very first person you meet from a dating site turns out to be an arsonist, that ought to serve as some sort of warning.

everyone I have met has been pretty nice for the most part - just no "spark" yet or not enough in common to see if the "spark" will happen...

this has been a challenge for me because I am used to having a fairly large social milieu in which to meet people, and now that I live alone in a city without my usual social contacts everything is just weird

I mean you meet someone from here that you've talked to a few times and other than that have no other frame of refernce, that is just weird to me

I have talked to 1 or 2 long term and felt that I had gotten to know them a little better than most on here....so I guess it just takes longer to get to know someone this way

it's not a short term solution in my opinion


I also know of success stories, my son met his wife on a site, and a friend at my old job met her live in partner this way

I just use this venue to find friends, hopefully in my area, I can hang out with. Not much point to that though since I have zero time to hang out.
