no "if" there

As I understand it you believe that President Obama is a Muslim. As of about a year ago, 46% of Republicans believe that this is true. About 20% of all Americans believe that. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/08/18/AR2010081806913.html Are you saying that you are among that 20%? I think we need to know so that we can gain some insight into your your thinking about the President's trips to Saudi Arabia in light of these recent remarks.

Its good news that women can play a part in the politics of the country. If IM not mistaken, many muslim populations have had suffrage before Americans received it(and I am not talking about as a result of being around longer)

right I agree but to make it legal and for there to be legalities the male counterpart would have to adhere to and them having a say in public affairs is wonderful....

I think Anybegood is right. It would be a mistake to pin our hopes too high on Saudi Arabia. The news report I just heard is that the sanctions against women driving will still be in place.

The King will do only the bare minimum that he can get away with without risking a major movement against the status quo. Elections can easily be marginalized by a monarch.

The only real good news here, IMO, is that the King is showing signs of being just being slightly uncomfortable about his diplomatic position in the world.

I see your point, but I think an improvement is an improvement.....even a small gain remains a small gain to the future of women's rights......it may start with voting and snowball later

When it comes to the lies of the middle east I would say that this is one story I will believe when I see it happen like the fall of the Berlin Wall. Till then, nothing but words!
