Topic: Another waste of government money... | |

I just at it as a colossal waste of money
How can it be a colossal waste of money when it helps put money in the pockets of people who will spend that money in the consumer markets, helping revive the economy? Especially considering that America's economy is 70% consumer-driven. Maybe Obama should take note and look, cause this is how you get the economy stimulated. |

please quote the whole post, not just parts of it....
You're right. my quote mis-characterized your entry. I'm not sure I understand why you included something about "lazy cops". That's what jumped out at me. |

That's what jumped out at me. i called them lazy because it is easy to give away money to get someone to lie, rather than to do their job and do an actual investigation. do you not see how that could get people to lie, and to put innocent people away to coincide with their agenda? |

do you not see how that could get people to lie, and to put innocent people away to coincide with their agenda?
Is that what happened? I thought, "The FBI has paid a $2.1 million reward to tipsters who provided information leading to the June arrests of former crime boss James "Whitey" Bulger and his girlfriend, ". I think you are writing about some completely different issue. Should this be in a different thread? |

I'm bending over backwards here to try to satisfy you question. Your summary statement was, "so the 2.1 million dollars to catch an 82 year old man.... thats not including their salaries, trips, food and other wastes of money not mentioned... ". Forget the part that a reward system doesn't involve much expense at all in salaries, trips, food and other things not mentioned. It's reward money. If the police had to conduct a house-by-house search to find him, I can't imagine how much that would have cost. What would have been a cost-effective way to find him? I don't know a lot about police work, other than what I see in the movies. Perhaps you know of a cheaper way to find him.

I know your liberalism makes you think that money grows on trees, but it doesn't, that comes from the taxpayers. so in the crisis we are in right now, can you really justify this? |

Then you are saying that it is better fiscal policy to allow a cold-blooded killer live out his days in freedom rather that put that tax-funded reward money into circulation helping the economy to revive while putting him in prison. |
