7+ billion on a planet that can BARELY sustain us. No not every human life is precious. Some people are just a waste of air. There are a lot of good people out there but how abou tthe ones who are not so good and the ones who are just crap in human skin?

No, not evey human life is precious. And on top of htat what makes us more important than other life on this world?

I concur. I am just one of the many and my life isn't anymore precious than anyone else. If I were to die tomorrow; it would make no difference, so no I don't think every human life is precious.

Yep yep. That's basically my view too!

To me human life is scared to be cherished. I believe one person can make a differance in the world. . . and many people have proven that!

yes - think of what the world would be like without one person you know of - for better or worse

that would change everything in the pattern or quilt of time that the person walks in...like an original Star Trek episode

As far as life & death, I believe we are all affected in a larger sense by human happiness and human suffering - in the collective fabric of the human soul an act of violence or dishonesty impacts us all negatively

also to the good with kindness & love....that is why it so important to love- we want to add more love to the fabric of time than hatred

Genetically speaking, every person who lives long enough to pass on his or her geners makes a difference in the grand scheme of humanity. Other than that, none of us really makes any lasting difference aside from the bonds we establish with others, and those rarely have any effect once we're dead. So physically, yes, every life matters. Socially, we only matter monemtarily in the big picture. Sort of depressing, isn't it?

I've thought about that often. And it is depressing to think in 200 years that my name, or maybe even a thought of me will not exist. But if I look at it in the sense of "hereafter", than I feel comforted in knowing that "my energy" or life force will live on. And, hopefully, will play a part in the Grand Scheme of what this <and other> world is all about.

Each life is precious...........it is a shame that we have to loose them in the massive in order for others to see that...

It is Tx...but all of life is a Yin/Yang. The earth will do what it has to do to balance itself out and sustain itself even if man did not have a hand in it.

This is not a question about abortion or the death penalty and it does not serve to minimize the importance of any other type of life, it is just something I have been thinking about the last couple days

Is every Human life precious? I mean, if losing three thousand lives in america changes the WORLD forever, does losing one life in Japan do the same? OR hundreds of thousands in Japan? or 19 children in Oklahoma?

does each new life affect the world forever just as much as each death does? Does it affect the world anymore than the election of a new world leader or the destruction of a rain forest?

How significant is human life in the scope of the WORLD?

This is a very interesting question.

Because human life is both precious and inconsequential.

Let's face it. We are all just animals - our real importance and
impact on the Universe is trivial. Vanishingly small. If the whole
Earth blew up tomorrow it would only be one less planet. We have
no idea what is out there beyond our tiny insignificant sphere of
influence in this tiny corner of our tiny galaxy.

It would be less than the smash of an ant.

We should get over ourselves.

On the other hand, people are capable of creating the most beautiful
and incredible things. Art and Science. Love and Society.

A single person can make something in a few minutes which will affect
all others profoundly for eternity. And, we understand ourselves and
our world in a way that no other animal we know of can.

So the loss of a single person is a real tragedy to their friends
and family and to each and every one of us who have lost the collected
value of that person's life contributions.

There is no other way I can think of to look at it.

Each and every life is both immensely important and also completely
inconsequential. It all depends on how you look at it.
