Topic: Why Do You Have To Drink? | |

I hardly ever drink. Its never really appealed to me. I also prefer dating non or very light drinkers.

Do you let them know before the date that's what will happen if they have more than one drink? If so, I don't see a problem with it. If not, and you actually just got up and left when they ordered that second drink, I'd have to wonder.

i would let them know before we even go to anywhere. if they want to push the subject then yes i would get up and leave em sitting there.
not wanting to sound mean or anything like that but there are just some things i will not deal with because of past problems. |

I don't see a problem with it as long as you let them know up front, as that's giving them a chance to decline the offer to go out if that doesn't work for them. If I were out with someone and they told me what to do, without mentioning their preference before hand, I'd probably be the one to get up and leave. |

Being honest is the best way to go. For I would honestly tell there was no need for us to meet. Since I do enjoy a drink from time to time and I'm not giving that up. Why waste their time or mine if that is going to be a issue? |

Same here. I don't want to be around people who are drinking at all. I've lost too many people to alcohol as it is, and I'm not going that route again. |

I am not a big drinker, but I will do the toast at a wedding or champagne on Christmas. When I was in my 20's I was drinking too much and so I just keep it pretty simple now.

I rarely drink, down to about once a year. I'm a lightweight so it hits me fast. I prefer to be at home when I drink, or some place where I can sleep, since drinking knocks me out. Usually its easier to just order Dew, tea or water. However, I have no problems getting a guy drunk, because its interesting finding out what he REALLY feels about things. Usually we don't go out again.

I have nothing against people whom can enjoy a good beer or a fine wine.
I like a good beer too "Root Beer". Believe it or not, there are gourmet root beer that cost more than the cheap stuff loaded with tons of sugar (and high fructose corn syrup) you can buy in bulk at Walmart, Meijers, Target, etc. And that gourmet root beer tastes great! But it costs more too. Some better than others, just like regular beer. The issue I have is when I meet a woman, she tends to push me to drink a beer or wine with her. Claiming it makes you feel better and eases your mind. And when I refuse, well... so much for us ever dating. No, I do not go to bars, clubs or pubs to meet women. Most of the ones I do meet are coworkers or buddies I have that know someone that is available. |

Most of the ones I do meet are coworkers or buddies I have that know someone that is available. The way I see it is even though I do enjoy a drink or two from time to time. If someone told me they did not drink then that is their choice and would never force it on them at all. But then I don't expect them to tell me I can't drink. As you and others have suggested it is best to stick with those that do not drink if that is a issue.. We all have that choice not a thing wrong with those that choose not to be around those that do.. Myself even though I do drink I will not tolerate a drunk.... If they can not handle their liquor and find the need to act stupid every time then I will not be around them at all. Those type of people don't need to drink... |

Because your body is made up of mostly fluids...and you need to keep it hydrated....I personally reccommend water
As for alcohol no one has to drink they want to drink let's clarify that Wine actually has beneficial antioxidants for your body Beer contains wheat and hops which actually are good for your excrement system.....not saying anyone should ever over do it And Liquor its just quicker LOL |
