I think if everyone decided to vote for Ron Paul that would really shake up the status quo.

Exactly. I do not agree with everything he believes in but it's time to pick up the rug and give it a serious shaking.

I typically vote libertarian when they are on the ballot.

I know some might think I throw my vote away but I don't want to vote for what I cannot stand. Sometimes I don't vote! No choice.

But so would voting for Paris Hilton...lol

doesnt mean it would be a good thing just cause it shook things up,,after the initial shake, there might be alot of damage

I understand what you're saying, but it's not a good comparison.

Obviously, you have to agree with his general line of thinking to vote with him. I'm sure whoever you voted for last time didn't believe every single thing you did, but you voted for him because he was the closest in line with your general beliefs.

I totally agree, sometimes things we do shake things up , which isnt bad unless we only do them for the sake of shaking things up, which often backfires

its kind of an extension of the 'blind' follower theory,, no sound reason to vote for the invidual per se so much as voting AGAINST the establishment...

I see solid reasons to support Paul just like I do Obama,, it will have to come down to their own words and demeanor during the debates,,,

True. I will not be completely sure who I will vote for until I the day before I vote. The candidates all have plenty of time to royally screw up before then. laugh

I didn't vote for Obama, but one thing I was really hoping he would do was follow through on his campaign promise to bring home the troops and end these stupid wars. He also promised to close Guantanamo. He has done neither. In fact, we are expanding our presence in other countries. ohwell

oops offtopic Sorry. laugh

He did sign the executive order to close Guantanamo,, I dont understand the specifics of executive orders though and for some reason it wasnt or couldnt be executed..signing the order was the most he could have done under the circumstances,, IMHO

I thought he promised to get us out of Iraq, which he is doing, but also wont be something that can just happen with the switch of a wand,,,,,

I am still impressed with his success regarding Osama(isnt he the reason we got in the wars in the first place, according to Bushs logic in the day?), and Libya, and Healthcare and many other issues that I thought no elected official would ever truly address,,,

Im still rather impressed with him, enough to vote again, UNLESS there is a candidate who seems to have more reasonable solutions to some of the things that need to be addressed in this country

not happy with the DODT, or the immigration amnesty(if it happens),, but noone is perfect,,,nor do I expect to agree with all of what any candidate decides to do

Yeah, I've heard all that. But, the bottom line is that he and the Democrats had total control for almost 2 years and nothing was done to bring home the troops and get us out of these other countries. I'm not buying the "he did all he could" line. But, that's JMO. flowerforyou

Politicians all make promises, but there's a good reason little ever changes, as George Carlin once stated: "The owners of this country don't want that".

It's pretty much as simple as that. Ron Paul is about the only one who has the balls to speak out about what is actually happening and has been happening for a long time under our noses, but I won't hold my breath for much to come of him given what I stated above. Those who truly run this country and in effect the world too, will do all they can to protect their interests. Always have, and always will for as long as they can.
