To that wonder in your eyes, as I grin and sumerize.
Gazing long into the air, what is it that you stare.
Wrapped in my arms,,as you take your bottle further down.
The smell of your new born skin, so abruntly all around.
Reflecting, upon my tasks ahead, hoping I can be a good dad.
Just knowing I helped make you, I am so happy,,so glad.
Seeing us play in later years, hoping and praying through my fears.
I am a dad now,,with you here on my lap, feeling like,,, WOW.
I promise you and God I'll never let you down, or push you around.
You'll never see me drunk, or yelling, calling you a bad name.
Reflecting in my mind, all of my own father's shame.
You will be loved and nurtured, raised with all I can give.
WE shall be a family who others want to be and live.
And when you set here with your baby in your arms held tight.
Your look back at me and you, knowing all this love I gave to you.
In that moment as your tears fall, know it was you who gave me light.
